How the in the world did hashirama beat madara?

i have 3 theories
1. the 1st used other tailed beast to defeat madara
2. Madara actually stole the senju dna and gave his eyes to nagato
3. madara actually lost, and died and tobi came along and stole his eyes and gave it to nagato.

Madara didnt have the Rinnegan during their fight, only his EMS (which, contrary to popular believe is simply MS but you cant go blind from it). He unlocked the Rinnegan somtime towards the end of his life (it has yet to be confirmed that Madara lost the fight, he could have died from some other event).
To simplify the answer: If Madara is a badass, Hashirama must have been a beast in his prime. Nuff said.

im going with number 1 i had said this in another post
Hashirama probly had every other tailed monster with him i mean he did give em out to the nations after he become hokage mayb he had em 4 this battle ppl always say he was picked hokage cause of his skill to control tailed monsters

hashirama probably beat him before the rinnegan then after being fatally wounded he awakened the rinnegan with senju dna however if edo tensei revives the person in there prime then how did he survive too see nagato as a boy thats a better question

probably he was left to die and nagato happen to stroll in or something? sorry i forgot that their fight happened long before he was probably born

that is highly probably im just hoping that they will do like a hashirama series after the fight is done or something like they did with kakashi and obito (like 1 book or something)

Madara didn't have the Rinnegan when he fought Hahirama, and they never made it clear if Madara actually died. Soo...he did die later obviously, and he unlocked the rinnegan before he died, but he probably wasn't defeated by hashirama. But hes a TOTAL BADASS. Unless hashi had something beyond his power when fought madara, no one could have stopped him when he got rinnegan lol

maybe he lived long enough to meet nagato, he was about to die but before that happened he gave his rinnegan to nagato hoping he could revive him in the future, maybe tobi is just a zetsu clone with some of madara's memories and personality who knows... :shrug:
