Look at Hiruzen response to Hashi's comment

"Its rude to say it...but its true"

Hiruzen acknowledge Hashirama strength and power and to say someone is stronger than Hashirama is rude.

Here Hiruzen want to emphasis that Hashirama is too strong even stronger than him (Hiruzen) also so for someone who admit he is stronger than Hashi is rude.

Yeah he compared him with an JJ bro. So i get your point. Hiruzen admitted that he was way weaker than hashirama .

I agree, nice evidence! It doesn't make sense to compare Obito to Hashirama unless he is the strongest, and Hiruzen seems to respect his power in this scene as stronger.

Kishi often changed his mind on statements he made earlier, Hiruzen certainly isn't stronger than Hashi, he's probably also weaker than Tobirama and Minato.

You can see the same inconsistency with Amaterasu, which was hailed to be the strongest technique ever but in the end it turned out you only have to put your clothes off...

Why Hiruzen said such words if he believed he was stronger than Hashi in his Prime years.

not saying that your incorrect, however we could also see it as Hiruzen being a student to them both has an incredible amount of respect and modesty, once again im not saying your wrong but we could also see it this way, this could be further backed up by the fact that Hiruzen says that it is rude to say., going on there wording alone isnt always a good way to grasp someones true strength

As for my opinion, I think that Hashirama, Tobirama, and Hiruzen are all stronger than he was. I do think he was the strongest of the 5 kage in his prime though. The 3rd Raikage is a close second, but with Hiruzen's jutsu mastery (including wind style), I think he takes it, but not by much.

His words hold weight and has merit. He said it not just out of respect but bcus he also know how strong is Hashirama compare to anyone he knows including himself.

If he said "Rude" bcus of respecting Hashirama, it doesn't make sense. He can just say "far from true". But "Rude" here used by Hiruzen is a strong word. In that sense it emphasis a 'power difference' and not about 'respect'.

Bcus Hashi was talking about difference in PL and knowing how strong is Hashirama, Hiruzen called it "rude" to say the opposite but sure Juubito is stronger than Hashirama, its true.

They are talking about 'power' and not about 'honor' or 'people rank'

I have to disagree , he doesnt even come close to hashirama . Prime or not .

Bro, read what I said again. I said Hiruzen was stronger than the other kage during his regime, not Hashirama. Hashirama beats him without moving.

I do agree with you ^^ i was just presenting a different way to look at it as we have to take into account the feelings and personality of the said character when they say it so when things get said it can be biased, however everyone seems to think that when a character says something it is immediately taken as fact ^^ because the writer has made them say it when it can be intended a lot differently, but once again i never said you were wrong ^^

Are people really fodder fapping(Hiruzen)? We've seen what he had to offer relative to the others during the 4th war and it was nothing much.

Surprisingly no one has fapped him so far. I just wanted to see why people have made huge claims about his abilities since I don't think he's as strong as most of the other Hokage.

To be honest , hiruzen is the strongest shinobi , not only in konoha but in the whole world.
Because he can perform all jutsu in konoha and can use 1000 illusions according to manga. He also has the spirit weapon enma which can crush hashirama mokuton and fight the strongest blade; kusanagi .
He also has the five elemental natures and that too he is a master of all. His intellect is also far greater than anyone atleast on par with the greatest as databook states his intelligence and wisdom is greatest among all ninja

It's a statement meant to be dismissive of anybody who choses to do so.

He was probably the strongest of the kage at the time. Everyone loves using the oro and ebisu quotes but forget both are used in a past tense
