[Discussion] How strong is gaara dad ?

He was a Kage, so he must have been somewhat strong, plus he was revived. This question is kind of pointless because we have never seen him fight at all.

The 4th kazekage was taken out by the sound 5 and Orouchimaru all with level 2 curse marks. kimimaro also was able to kick Gaara's ass when at his most weakened state.

There are only a small limited number of people that could possibly stand a chance against the 6 of them. I don't think Gaara's father is weak but I don't think he is all that powerful. The 3rd was said to be the most powerful but Sasori took him out and made him his puppet.

As far as I can remember. Third was said to be the most powerful out of all of them. I don't understand if Oro did make a fool of Fourth kazekage why didn't kabut summon there and there? Wait... Why can't oro be summoned just because kabuto has part of him in him? Where is Oro's soul? lol Certainly can't have it.

otherwise he would never have been the yondaime kazekage
through out the Naruto history i doubt there has been a weak kage.... even a substitute hokage wasn't a push over
so yes Yondaime Kazekage is strong.....
abilities?..... probably something cool but i guess not extraordinarily great..(but who knows)
remember.... 2nd tsuchikage said he could sense someone (gaara) with the same chakra as the new guy(4th kazekage) and the 3rd Raikage recognised him( maybe from some distant encounter or something... not sure) plus only him noticed Gaara's third eye jutsu, and the way Gaara looked when the recognised his Dad was like he had to be on his guard (not emotionally because Gaara hated his Dad, he'll be on guard because of his Dad's abilities)my final conclusion 4th Kazekage vs 5th Kazekage is gonna be great!!!

Gaara's father is definitely strong. Orochimaru stated he might have died if kimmaro hadnt had helped him.

orochimaru killed him by surprise, he thought they were allies. there was no attempt to fight back, sides orochimaru was on kage level too. he had his own sound village ninja.

If he isnt strong he must be really good in a specific thing like no offence to tsunade, but like shes not a good fighter but is really good with her medical ninjustsu so they made her hokage. he could be like that or something.

I doubt he can control the sand, cuz i mean they made such a fuss over gaara being able to control it and gaara carries a bunch around with him, his dad doesnt carry any major weapons so he probs does some sort of ninjustsu.

At first when i saw his dad i thought he just looked like an average shinobi cuz he doesnt dress up in any cool garb but i guess we will just have to wait and see.

Seriously, I wonder if he couldn't or wouldn't take out his chibi Jinchuuriki son. Which one it was goes a long way for me to determining his strength.

As for the topic, he must be strong. Otherwise he would've have not been at some point the strongest ninja in Sand village.

He must of been strong. He was just killed by Orochimaru. Infact I actually think upon careful thoughts. The reason he couldn't assasinate his own son. Because he is his son. :/

I dont think that sand is Shukaku's ability, gaara still has the ability although he lost him and the kazekage who was sasori's puppet had a sand-ability too (yes, iron-sand, yet it was similar) , so it seems to be more a rare kg.

gaara's dad lost to orochimaru and kimmimaru, so he seems to be beatable.
Of course kishi wouldnt present him that way if he was a complete weakling, but you mustnt forget that he's a revived, so he'll be brain-dead, immobile and wont use more than 3 or 4 d-ranked jutus, like the other revived so far.

remember all we saw was 4th being stabbed by Orochimaru, that doesn't necessarily mean he was easily overpowered because Orochimaru is as good as a kage and kimimaro was awesome

YES!!! your absolutley rigth the kazekage (gaara's dad) had to figth oro, kimimaru and possibly kabuto, all at the same time i dont think thats easy, to me he is a kage after all!!

Orochimaru is probably one of te strongest shinobi to have been I'm Naruto, and it is stated that we were never able to see he at his full potential for many reasons; he was always sick, most fights he got entertainment out of them or he got caught in genjustu (who hasn't??). Therefore, if anyone think the 3rd was weak in anyway because he lost to orochimaru is a complete idiot. I'm sure Kabuto and kim took in the guards for most of te fight (which couldn't have been easy since guards are badass) since we saw three dead sand shinobi in the circle. Meanwhile oro and the third was going at it (don't know I oro was serious or not since he usually wasn't) and was probably assisted by kimm. once he finished off his guard, either way the 3rd=strong!

Gaara's father has the kekkei genkai 'Magnet release'. His Nature release is also called 'Magnet release'. he controls gold dust, like Gaara controls his sand. He may be able to control sand, but its unlikely.

He would be strong, if you consider how strong Gaara is, since he trained Gaara for a while before his death. Although, he was easily beaten by Orochimaru.
