Okay so Naruto is a character who is morally strong because of his will and his ability to connect everyone through empathy. That said it IS a miracle that Naruto turned out as positive as he was considering the hand he'd been dealt.
Theoretically- a misbehaving Naruto steals the scroll for Mizuki. Upon learning his identity as the 9 tail jinchuuriki he instead thinks on this and the conditions of his birth and being that little bit less morally tough- Naruto rightfully begins to become resentful and gives into some of Kurama's evil influence.
Naruto never learns his lesson about moral subjectivity with Haku/Zabuza and thus never forms his ninja way. He remains part of Team 7 but with a different personality, Gaara for example- would've been killed. In which ways throughout the series' run does this empower or handicap Naruto strength and opportunity wise?
Becoming more of a Menma-like character and considering he 9/10 times stays in the Leaf, denying help and stealing techs- how strong does Naruto become in this version of events? Does he surpass the alternate reality Menma?
(He is still Ashura's descendant & access to all of his mentors & abilties as well as new ones & new influences if he ends up meeting them)
Was Menma simply Kage Summit level Naruto but with an attitude? Or could he go onto become more?
(psst remember Menma was stronger than normal SM Naruto, since untamed Kurama only worked with Naruto because of the special circumstances. Menma isn't literal evil Naruto because of his sharingan and new unique puppet/summon esque jutsu. That said, Menma still interestingly enough manages to earn the rasengan- implying he doesn't stray from Naruto's timeline completely.)
