That's your interpretation. I could just as easily say it's foreshadowing to the flashback of when Doflamingo deemed Law special and like him, which is what made him want to make him his right hand man, while he sees Luffy as dime a dozen.Translation error

He meant to say that unlike Law(shichibukai), Strawhats are pirates, so marines had no reason not to capture them at the very least
Nah ... Doffy like him, because Law can used as a toy. That's your interpretation. I could just as easily say it's foreshadowing to the flashback of when Doflamingo deemed Law special and like him, which is what made him want to make him his right hand man, while he sees Luffy as dime a dozen.
What chapter is this? And Doffy saw Law's "specialness" far before he wanted to simply use Law.Nah ... Doffy like him, because Law can used as a toy.
And ... Doffy consider Luffy > Law.

Ch. 682 ... ....What chapter is this? And Doffy saw Law's "specialness" far before he wanted to simply use Law.
Doffy had not seen Law for how long? Over 10 years..What chapter is this? And Doffy saw Law's "specialness" far before he wanted to simply use Law.
Edit: Never mind what chapter it's from, I found it. Anyways, I could just post the scan above again where Doffy says Luffy is just common/ordinary, unlike Law. The point of me posting that page in the first place was to show that Doffy's word shouldn't be used to compare the two, as one page he's saying "Strawhat is probably above Law" and then later on he says Law is above Luffy.
Yeah that's what I was trying to say, his word on one being above the other isn't quite credible.Doffy had not seen Law for how long? Over 10 years..
On the other hand Luffy disappeared for 2 years without anyone knowing anything about his whereabouts..
Exactly how is Doflamingo measuring their powerscales of whom is above whom?!? How the fuk should he know who is stronger dude...
Anyway he is cocky as hell, even threatening an admiral. He is obviously not the Einstein of calculating who is powerful and who ain't, that's why hes gonna fall to 2 people he beforehand already deemed unworthy to give him a challenge

It makes perfect sense. He already considered Law "special" since he was a child. My interpretation makes sense because it's foreshadowing to Doffy seeing something in Law due to the look on his eyes.
Bogard's scan makes more sense than yours. Why would Joker change his mind about Luffy all of a sudden?
Implying that your interpretation of that scan was right but it doesn't make much sense. I admit that we can't use Joker's statement to say that Luffy has more potential but your interpretation of that scan is clearly wrong.

He thought Vergo would trounce Law when he said that. Upon hearing Law defeat Vergo very easily, he realized that Law was way stronger than he thought, and that could have been what made him change his mind. He thought Luffy had more potential than Law simply because of his Haoshoku.
You are yet to explain why Joker would change his mind on a whim without a specific reason. He know more about Law than Luffy but still he thought Luffy has more potential than Law. Why would he change his mind again? Did something that can drastically change his mind about Luffy happened b/w those two chapters?
Yes, He has been interested in Law ever since he was a kid and he did not ignored his faith in Law's potential when he said that Luffy might have greater potential than Law. Remember his conversation with Vergo. He said 'Law goes without saying ' But strewhat might be even more capable than Law. with bold part he was implying that 'you already know Law is a capable kid' but Luffy might be even more capable than Law. Joker's opinion about Luffy doesn't effect his opinion on Law or his desire to make Law his right hand man.

And it's not that Doffy's opinion on Law changed, he simply saw something in Law that made him think he isn't common. He said Law aside, Luffy is just a common pirate.
That's not how it works. If Doffy thought Vergo was a 30, Luffy was a 20 and Law was a 15, Law defeating Vergo would make Doffy think that Law's number if higher than 30, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's gonna boost Luffy's number up as well.
It doesn't effect his opinion on Luffy. He warned Vergo to be careful about Luffy where as he thought Law can't beat Vergo but Law proved that he's capable of beating Vergo. Then it'll just increase Joker's expectations on Luffy and his opinion would like ' Luffy > Law > Vergo' after the end of Law vs Vergo as he thinks that Luffy is more capable than Law.
The word common pirate clearly indicates that he was separating them based on their identities and not their strengths. Law was a shichibukai so Smoker has no reason to involve with Law's personal issues where as he has no reason to leave SH's as they are pirates. That's what joker was implying, He was talking about whole crew and do you seriously think the whole crew is just a bunch of random fodders when compared to Law?Lol
Joker never downplayed Luffy(Compared to Law at least) even when talking with Law about him during their encounters at Dressrosa.
Tbh zoro he only said tht due to luffy awakening kings haki.....

Joker's opinion about Luffy doesn't effect his opinion on Law or his desire to make Law his right hand man. It is not like Law's strength is the only aspect that makes him want to use Law.

That's your interpretation. As for identities, Luffy would clearly have a larger identity than Law, as he is the son of the most wanted criminal, grandson of one of the strongest Marines, was a rookie that survived a war in Marineford that involved a Yonko crew of all places and people, and broke into and out of Impel Down. Plus, he also punched a Tenryuubito. Your interpretation is more faulty than mine. Luffy's representation is far above "common pirate" so it can't be in regards to identity.
Tbh zoro he only said tht due to luffy awakening kings haki.....
Clearly you missed the point. Once again, that's not how it works. Doffy isn't a forum member following the manga where he applies strength to one character simply because a character that was initially hyped to be inferior shows it. If Doffy thinks Law and Luffy is below Vergo, and Luffy is above Law, but then sees Law defeat Vergo, he's gonna put Law above Vergo, but Luffy will stay in the same place because Luffy didn't show anything to be moved. He originally thought it was Vergo>>>Luffy>Law. Law defeating Vergo puts Law at the top of the list with Luffy at the bottom. Doffy isn't gonna think Luffy is stronger than he initially assumed if Luffy himself doesn't do something that shows so.
He never assigned fixed numbers to them. He just thought Vergo >/= Luffy > Law. Law beating Vergo won't change the fact that Luffy has kings haki and he's from a terrible blood line. Luffy is still above Law in the eyes of Joker even if Law exceeded his expectations.
Luffy having better background than Law won't change Luffy's identity as a pirate. Once again Law was a warlord so he's a special case of marines unlike Luffy who's a pirate with terrible background.
It seems like you are totally overlooking something here. Those statements of Joker were directed towards Smoker. Do u really think all of strewhats are light weights for Smoker? He was just defeated by Vergo with moderate difficulty where as Joker thought Vergo might face problems with Luffy which means that Luffy alone is > Smoker in the eyes of Joker yet for some reason Joker thinks that Law is too much for Smoker and Sh's a light weights?
I know that and I am definitely not one of those who thinks that Luffy > Law because of Joker's statement. I am just trying to say that Riker's interpretation aboutYou must be registered for see linksscan was wrong.
