First of all, before he died, his brother Izuna told him not to trust the Senju and to defend the honor of the Uchiha. Now Madara being practically ostracized by the people of Konoha, despite being one of the high diplomas of Konohagure, did add to his hatred. Madara was also hated by his own clan; they had become complacent and thought that Madara was trying to start another war. To add to that pain, Madara had the reoccurring thought that he was living in the same village with Tobirama whom had killed brother and there was no way for him to exact revenge because he was “powerless”. The “betrayal” of his clan memebers accompanied with him feeling like he betrayed his late brother’s wishes and how he couldn’t defeat Hashirama finalized it.
