when all it takes for someone whose clothes is on fire to counter it is removing said clothes, it's hype.

The point of that incident is to "remove the burning part". The Buddha has to chop up its own hands and head to stop the ama

the point i was making is that Amaterasu was never shown to be consistent in its ability to burn things immediately despite its hype, even when the part that gets hit by it was flammable.

Yes its burning speed is never consistent, but the "burning anything" part is always held true

Normal fire will completely burn down the entire forest in short of time, but amaterasu still "burning" leaves....

that may be true, but it also never consistently burned everything it came into contact with under the same conditions. The thread might as well be about how much regular Katon would it take to destroy that statue, since it's been about as consistent as Amaterasu in regards burning speed and ability to immediately destroy something.

In regard to "burning everything it comes to contact, it is consistent. Unless you want to say about burning the ground, that is debatable

1.

The straps holding Madara's armor together gets burned, but much of the armor itself didn't burn.

2.

The Raikage's arm is still the only thing on fire for about a solid 2-3 min before finally getting around to chopping it off.

3.

This is one of the few cases in the story where somebody might have actually died from getting blasted by Amaterasu.

So yeah, not consistent.

1. It just starting to burn. And if it doesn't burn most of the armor, madara would have kept it on

2. That was one two moves in between and a few sentences. 2-3 minutes is exaggerated, 30-40 seconds at best. Still you are talking about burning speed here

1. Just starting to burn? Madara spent plenty of time talking to Sasuke while the top half of his body was on fire.

2. If you actually read the whole thing, you would've noticed that i said about 2-3min. Meaning approximately, not exactly. And nothing you said defeats my point about Amaterasu is mostly hype. If it did, there would be literally no trace of Madara's armor and the Fourth Raikage's left arm.

Based on all of that, i find it extremely difficult to believe that Amaterasu would torch something as massive as TTH that easily. The consistency in its ability to burn was all over the place, regardless of w/e its target was made of.

1. If you are right, then madara would have taken armor off

2. You are saying ama is like normal fire except a little hotter which is complete contradiction with manga itself
