The Gokage as a unit would give Madara more trouble. Considering the ease at which they were dispatched once Perfect Susano'o was employed, that Edo Madara was toying with his opponents and making use of only one of the Rinnegan paths and that EMS Madara even has the Kyūbi to rely upon, i'm not seeing any scenario in which Itachi wins or even makes Madara sweat.
