How much better would Naruto have been without pairings?

I think it would have been a little better..Not 100% because of the many other flaws the manga has.Like I don't see why the hardcore pairing fans couldn't just read romance manga or some shojo.

Huh? Paring didn't do anything to the story, pairings will always be there no matter what. Its the people who if they decide to go overboard with it will ruin the story for them, prime example is NB.

Like all this pairing stuff is annoying like sure I like NS but at least I knew it wasn't developed well. I actually didn't want any pairings to happen.Some or a lot of NH and SS fans fail to realize that those are also developed horrible...Like SS first moment was in ch.699 and NH one was the movie and ch 700.SS is the worst one though and still is. It's like this whole thing turned into some pairing thing. Idk if it was Kishi or the editors but man this is just....on the good side Sarada is a cool character.

It's not the couples that is the problem, although this current gaiden is horrible because of horribly written romance drama. It's the lead up to them, especially with Sakura and Sasuke, the worst couple ever. The romance aspect could have been written much better. Look at Mother and I. Our story is a work of art involving true love. Kishimoto could have taken a page from Mother and me.

lets look at the characters, they are teenagers, teenagers have romance, teenagers are awkward and romance is a growing faze. Without it in a series that covers this age group the story would not have been realistic. Is the romance a major factor, is the romance well written? Not really, but it's necessary.

im fine with pairings, except sasusaku. sasu karin is better, but just "sasuke" might be the best thing.

I agree. I was very satisfied with how the series has ended, even though I wasn't a fan of said pairings, but this gaiden has left a sour taste in my moth. Also, all the talk about pairings and people being so serious about it hurts as well.

I actually ignore the whole pairing aspect. I can handle the manga far better because of it.
