How much better would Naruto have been without pairings?

The pairings ruined the end of Naruto. It was as if the pairings were more significant that Naruto being hokage and I didn't like that. The weren't even developed good and some of the pairing fans are going bananas over this stuff which makes it even worst.

Bold: I disagree. Chapter 700 actually saved the most significant thing (Naruto becoming hokage) for last. Notice how the last things that were done before the Narrator closed out the chapter was as follows:

1. Hokage Naruto comes and punishes Boruto for defacing the hokage statue.
2. He tells Bolt about how as hokage he needs to treat the entire village as family (thus showing that Naruto has truly matured into the role of hokage), and helps Bolt clean up the mess.
3. He then goes to the 5 kage summit.

The narrator then comes in and gives a brief conclusion summary of Naruto's life and then tells that he is now called the 7th.

The events that I have just listed are what close out the chapter, and they all focus on Naruto being hokage. Clearly they saved the best for last. Even the cover of that volume had that epic picture of hokage Naruto standing watching over the village. The emphasis was clearly on the fact that Naruto became hokage.

The 2nd biggest emphasis was the new generation (not the pairings themselves). Do you notice how the chapter showcased some of the personality of the new generation kids such as Boruto, Himawari, Sarada and the new ino-shika-chou? It showcased how Chouchou would ditch training for food, how Inojin is insensitive like Sai, and how Shikadai is lazy like Shikamaru was. Heck, it even already started to touch on Boruto's and Sarada's father problems.

Clearly the 2 big emphasized topics of chapter 700 were Naruto becoming hokage and the next generation (which has always been a big thing in the series. This series has repeatedly talked about passing the will of fire on to the next generation. Therefore, it is fitting that there would be a next generation in existence that would be touched upon in the final chapter)

The pairings only served to tell who were the parents of the new kids (since it wouldn't make sense for them to come out of nowhere without having been conceived by any parents). The romance aspect was not emphasized at all! Despite the fact that we found out that Naruto married Hinata, Naruto and Hinata were not even anywhere in the same vicinity in chapter 700 (let alone having any interaction). Heck, Naruto and Hinata haven't even interacted in Gaiden thus far (and they likely won't from the looks of it). The only reason that we even knew that NaruHina was confirmed was solely because Himawari had whiskers and Hinata's hair and was with Hinata! You can't even tell that Boruto is Hinata's son based on his appearance alone! Would you really call no interaction between two spouses an emphasis on the pairing? The same goes for Sasuke and Sakura in chapter 700. A pairing requires a set of two lovers, but the only person who was even focused on Sasuke in chapter 700 was Sarada.

Sarada focusing on Sasuke is in no way an emphasis on a pairing unless you are proposing some incestuous SasuSara pairing.

As for the other pairings such as the ino-shika-chou pairings, sure they were shown together at the training grounds waiting for their kids, but that was one page, and even then Inojin's fear of his mother took the limelight over the pairings themselves. As for Kiba and Tamaki, who cares to be honest? Who cares about Kiba to begin with?

Rock Lee's wife wasn't shown and Tenten is presumably single along with Shino.

Speaking of Tenten and Shino, chapter 700 also showcased multiple changes in occupation for some of the Konoha 11.

Naruto became hokage.
Shino became an academy teacher.
Tenten opened a weapons shop.

The chapter even showcased Kakashi and Guy's retirement leisure and Kurenai's daughter Mirai.

As you can see, chapter 700 actually covered multiple topics ranging from stuff like:

Naruto being hokage/ the next generation, to some of the smaller points like the various shifts in occupations that people underwent. It even revealed who the new kages of the other villages are and showed how the old ones are doing.

Pairings were just a small part of this chapter and they weren't really focused on as you say they were. Finally, as I stated before, the chapter ended on the note emphasizing that Naruto is hokage.

As for the fans, that can't be helped. You can't control how the fans react to something so you shouldn't let them ruin an ending for you, but you can analyze carefully to see that Naruto becoming hokage and the new generation were the main focuses (and not the pairings themselves).

I think we all would agree, but I think a lot of people would take a well written romance or no romance at all over a horribly written one.
The only mistake Kishi made was early Naruto having a crush on Sakura,it gave some people wrong hope. After all we did 700 episodes of Sakura saying Sasuke-kun and 700 episodes of Hinata saying Naruto-kun and yet they din’t get it.

Well, that certainly is not the only mistake, but it is one mistake, yes. That is also annoying. Near the end of the series, Naruto jokes about Sakura being his girlfriend and other stupid things after Hinata makes a huge speech and everything. Just ridiculous.
