How long will AB last?

I don't mean this thread to give off a negative vibe but I think this question should be asked. Many anime fansites are shutting down due to legal, inactivity and funding issues. I gave this site a 2020 deadline before it either shuts down or goes completely inactive. My predictions are not far off, I base this on the dwindling activity levels.

I just hope we can turn this around and ensure that AB has a longer shelf life. However, this is not going to happen with five or six people...

From my side, I will try to be more active and post in the chapter discussions. But If I don't see any improvements in activity, I might leave again.

ehhhhh, i doubt long though the base has been slightly more active than usual(largely due to minamoto's posting). New users don't really seem to stick & it seems like the ones that do stay only do so to post advertisements or other odd stuff. it's too bad people prefer reddit and discord. I really dont understand why when topics are drowned so easily in those formats and the discussions are so shortlived that you have to start from square 0 the next time they're brought up.

Going in Discord is like contracting a disease of not focusing on a subject long enough and treat it lightly.
if you really want to talk about something you can't do it there.

But any general discussions here have little posts. Even the last religion thread has just few posts where in other times we had several pages... So i really don't know what to do except being active as much as i can in any section i can say something.

I try to be active on most subtopics, but to be fair I don't watch that much anime anymore. I just like hanging a round in the game section atm. As I feel that all the manga sub topics either seem way to far in and I literally got nothing to talk about.

I'm also worried about the future with the Internet in Europe as probably and hopefully y'all know what censorship might be applied to us living here.

I might be more active if there was a big gaming(as in PC/Console) sub section. People could post their reviews, recommendations etc.

I know there are posts like this but they are buried between all other things.

@Zise @Versuvio are working pretty hard coming up with thing have respect for them.
I would say instead of blaming mods members should actively post in forums .

Make a discussion thread you cant expect mods to do everything even they have rl life job and stuff.

I prefer using forum in the end , i use discord for important update about mafia games thats it.

You younglings need to figure way out how forum can be used.
We are at the point social media is going at faster pace. Wven people no longer use facebook they prefer whatsapp.

Also new regulation of EU laws will be challenging time for any content based websites. So things wont be easy btw.

i once told a admin that NB stastikstiks are not normall and have few memberz and i have greetest progect to revive it( i recently discovred it was becuz of internet bots) and he got all mad....i was like wowww..shiill teh out bruh...this is just website internet not real life issue..

NB era has dawned the platform needed new solution. If your solution of bringing back vbullein based theme that would nt work almost those version plugin have died and most of old staff no longer work on that legacy version . Thats why admins used xenforo platform it costs around 200$ .

Also main thing dmca are sending legal strikes . With new regulation its even tougher to run forums now.

Current target should be new members, old members have grown up and busy with their lives. Nothing is permanent in life. Sometimes life can give bad pill its hard to accept it but if your friends move on they probably want good in their life. Few like us will come back because this is part of the memory of our childhood.

From what i see momosaka pointed out well new members or new generation anime user mostly love being on discord . Many of them got exposed to faster mean of chat so its a challenge thats a present at this moment so we def need to change our appeal so that they can feel comfortable.

zise also pointed out well there was time skype mania took over for few years but it lost momentum when microsoft took over.

Good idea maybe you should chat and give your brief outline to staff In their PM or suggestion /help thread but i think going back to the old forum will def not happen i think.

This I hate the discord format, it's way to fast for people who are not connected 24/7, by the time i read something on discord. they are already 200 pages further. I always need to scroll back up to be able to keep up. Heck i even have this on the AB maffia discord and its pretty slow on there
