So we all know that Kakashi gained his sharingan from implanting Obito's eyes before Obito died, but we still don't know how he each acheived MS, the time span was probably while naruto was training with Jiraiya, Kakashi gained this ability because he didn't show this earlier on, of course this is just an assumption.
Now for my main idea, how he acheived MS, of course we all know that episode of shippuden, 119 and 120, we learn of kakashi and what happened to Obito. Now what if that when naruto was training, Kakashi did his own training but more of deep meditation and acceptance.
Through this, I beleive kakashi realized that Obito was a true freind (maybe he already did) but more importantly, feels that it was his fault that obito died, indirectly killing Obito. I beleive through this epiphany kakashi was able to active MS because he indirectly killed his closest freind.
Just like sasuke when he was told what Itatchi did for him, he was able to awaken it fully as well.
