Shakespeare is good because he could make raunchy jokes that just completely kill the competition:

"If love be blind, love cannot hit the mark.

That was an amazing film! Saw that, and a modern and somewhat comical take on Macbeth in English. Both versions were great.

Shakespeare was great because he touched on near(if not) every basic human emotion and motivation, he wrote entire plays in iambic pentameter which is no easy feat

Well I usually dont get the comedies but the tragedies are rather good (even though the plot may be simple) only because the way the characters spoke .... Overall he is a rather good playwright.
