I am looking for one more weekly manga.
What about one piece?is it worth good reading? If you know please tell me.
My first opinion is bad because I don't like the drawings.very terrible looking characters in there.
Please help because I heard a lil bit that this is good.give me full reviews and opinions.
I can't risk by trying it out because some stories are very good and once you are in,then, you are addicted to it.(Naruto, bleach, history strong...etc.)
So just gimme idea...

Drawings suck at first and will continue to suck for a while, before they get amazingly good. The stories, the characters, everything about One Piece, though, is epic, and just gets better and better. I can honestly say I love One Piece, and I like it much more than Naruto.

WTF
all of u guys who said is better then naruto is.......
smh
it depends on ur age group . alot of old heads like one piece.
one piece is good. but naruto has way more suspense. and thrillers. and WAY more excitement and stuff to look foward to. the drawing sucks to me on OP but im just inpatient to wait for the anime. so yea. as of now. the story line SUCKS!! im not gonna spoil it. but bleh. but i do suggest getting into one piece. i started watchn one piece around 100 episodes ago or so. when all the crew mates he have now are assembled. the Enel arc blew me away from OP. all them ugly effed up charcters. smh. but 3 of the arcs on their are really bad ass

I feel the same way I hear so many good things about it, but the art style really keeps getting to me.

Every time I try to start reading it the characters with their oddly shaped faces extended noses and arms that look like they suffer from extreme tumors rather then muscle bulk I just can't take it seriously.

It's all just so cartoonie T_T

Don't read, watch the anime...
Actually: Read, don't watch the anime first.

"The names of many special attacks and other concepts in the manga consist of a form of punning, in which phrases written in kanji are paired with an idiosyncratic reading. The names of Luffy, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, and Franky's techniques are often mixed with other languages, and the names of a number of Zoro's sword techniques are designed as jokes; for example, some of them look fearsome when read by sight but sound like kinds of food when read aloud (like Zoro's signature move, Onigiri, which is rendered as demon's cut but may also mean rice dumpling). Eisaku Inoue, the animation director, has said that the creators did not use these kanji readings in the anime since they "might have cut down the laughs by about half." Nevertheless, Konosuke Uda, the director, said that he believes that the creators "made the anime pretty close to the manga.""

The director of the anime himself said that he might have cut the laughs and quality of the series in half by not translating the kanji, thus most of the puns are gone.

It's alot of those little things that make One Piece the best.
Instead of putting a lot of effort into the art style, Oda would rather focus on the plot and have like little treats here and there around in the manga. Having Pandaman alone in the manga and anime shows how Oda also includes small stuff in the series.

Heres a very accurate illustration showing how consistent the storyline of One Piece is compared to the two other major mangas. (You can include the anime(with the fillers), which would screw up naruto and bleachs story line even further, while One Piece would remain pretty much the same)

And all of that was only in your opinion.......no other OP fan complains about it.

And for ****s sake, it first came out in like 1997 or something, of course its gonna look crappy at first.

But For Starters I believe the anime is right since they can watch and read the subs at the same time, and it's makes it easier for them to understand the overall story though once they reach the latest point in the anime, then they can start reading the manga for themselves, but I agree with you.

Actually, if you watch the anime first, you have to spend 20 min watching every single episode. 519 episodes, thats like literally sitting and watching One Piece straight for little over 7 days. (Which isn't as bad as it sounds actually).

However, for the manga, it depends entirely on how fast you can read. It can take you anywhere between 2 days and 5 days to catch up to current chapter.

@People voting the bad options: I guess you need to achieve some maturity in order to like it. Immature kids.. what are you gonna do..

i like reading and watching. the only downside to the manga is sometimes there is a SHITLOAD to read.. like alot sometimes, but it is super creative, original, funny, and awesome.. so read and watch, you will not regret it.

Yes, now that he is somewhat interested.
We'll have him read 5 chapters a day(don't want it to interfere with irl stuff too much) and we'll ask him some question from those 5 chapters, if he doesn't get them all right, we'll ban him for 1 day. And so on :)

It isn't really a downside if you enjoy every bit of it :p Lets say you are Luffy, who obviously loves meat, and has a bottomless stomach, and there is a LOT of meat you can eat. Same thing applies here.
