OT: It's not, when you heard about izanagi, you almost knew it needed a counter and it fit the criteria. Plus you don't want to expect everything in the series, surprises are always needed. U_U

Itachi somehow had the perfect Genjutsu capable of putting all of Kabuto's defenses to shame, the same defense that troubled him the whole battle.

When used correctly, Izanami can be put in the same tier as Kotoamatsukami, since it requires no eye contact, and the user won't even notice he's trapped without prior knowledge.

Except breaking out is even harder, since it requires someone like Kabuto to change his whole perspective of life while dealing with something that never ends.

Fun Fact: Izanagi and Izanami is a divine couple in the Japanese myth.

So if there is a Izanagi there WILL BE Izanami and following the Yin and Yang concepts it might be its counter balancing factor.

It's an asspull because it came out of no where; no prior warning other then a bit of rumors from those who know the mythology behind it that Izanami might be out there.

It perfectly fit the situation. If it was mentioned some point earlier in the series? Nah. But.. It came out of no where and served the situation ideally.

like that jutsu madara used to pull meteor from space Tengai Shinsei ? or sharigan evolving into rinnegan?

If you re read that fight a couple more times it becomes painfully obvious itachi will use it.

First kabuto comments that itachi possesses true visual prowess: the ability to see into ones soul.

Then kabuto rants on about how he was a spy and orochimaru gave him purpose in life.he also says at least a couple times he's surpassed him

The reason people call it an asspull is because we considered kabuto a god and people who didn't see the hints Think it came out of nowhere.

If kabuto acted less obsessive itachi probably won't have known to use it. Its like going to a doctor and telling him you can't sit still or can't focus.he uses Adderall to beat your ADHD.kabuto showed symptoms and itachi drugged him lol
