So Goku manages to knock Zamasu around landing a super effective blow with Kaioken. However, Zamasu appears to have taken minimal damage, though his frustration has reached its breaking point. He declares that his patience has worn thin and lets his rage take over. His pupils disappear and his shirt tears off as his muscles swell like SS Goku vs Frieza. He continues to power up while screaming. Goku says that his power is increasing at a ridiculous rate and if they don't stop him he could become even stronger than Beerus.
Goku and Vegeta both agree to fuse for the sake of Trunks' timeline. Blue Vegito is born, and knocks the powering up Zamasu into the ground. Zamasu charges back at Vegito and they enter intense combat. Fearing the destruction of the planet, Vegito kicks Zamasu out of the atmosphere and they take their battle to outer space.
Meanwhile, Trunks laments his uselessness.
Vegito has the upper hand, but Zamasu's power continues to increase as he becomes further enraged. Vegito launches his ultimate attack Final Kamehameha to finish him off, but Zamasu survives; however half of him is now melting due to him only being half immortal. Zamasu summons the scythe Goku Black used earlier, and clashes with Vegito's Ki sword. Vegito manages to cut Zamasu in half at the waist but before he can launch another Final Kamehameha Zamasu tears open a dimensional rift and kicks Vegito into it with his disembodied lower half.
Zamasu puts his pieces back together but throws up blood, realizing his ability to regenerate is becoming weaker.
With Vegito trapped, Zamasu returns to ground level where the remaining humans cower in despair. Trunks attacks the fatigued Zamasu, who has lost his buff form, and with the help of the genki energy he manages to slice Zamasu down the middle, causing his halves to separate back into Black and Zamasu. While still in his powered up genki form, Trunks kills Black with a burning attack and turns on Zamasu, who he begins to torture.
However, Trunks takes too much time indulging in revenge, and his power up wears off, reverting him to base form. The immortal Zamasu recovers from his injuries and prepares to destroy the Earth and kill the humans. Suddenly, another dimensional tear opens, Vegito had mimicked Zamasu by using his Ki blade to cut through space time and escape the pocket dimension. Zamasu curses Vegito out in a fit of desperation and throws his attack at Earth but Vegito easily intercepts and deflects it. He then stabs Zamasu on his blade and flings him into the dimensional tear, which closes trapping him eternally.
With Zamasu defeated, all that remains is fixing the damage to Earth and defusing Vegito, but Vegito wishes to remain fused and fight Beerus. Thus leading us to the next arc, Vegito vs Beerus.
