Well, Naruto had lived his entire life knowing nothing about his parents. And then suddenly...a Hokage appears in his mind (or what ever the situation was in that weirdo ninja world), and talks about seeing his son. Now...why would Naruto think that the 4th Hokages son would be Naruto him self ?
His whole life he has been nothing. A loner, dropout "monster" among other things. So you can't really think yourself as a Hokages son, just like that. Naruto didn't have any clue what the heck was going on eighter. And like Kakashi said once, that the Ninja world and spirits, what ever...are mysterious and still all haven't been discovered. A situation like that would confuse any ninja with a history like his.
But I guess the easiest way is to call someone stupid and have no point in this anyways. Non the less, goofy Naruto made us laugh once more.
