The one time both Naruto & Sasuke need plot shield off the top of my head is fighting Haku. After that we can't really tell and even then Naruto might've learned some other jutsu to help there without Kurama messing up his chakra control.

Not much was displayed so I cannot give other examples. FTG may be related to seals (markings actually) but it doesn't belong to the Uzumaki clan since it was developed by Tobirama.

Now Tobirama may have or may not have learned the seal from an Uzumaki, but (just a hunch), during the time he developed FTG, he probably couldn't have (has very rare chances) of meeting an Uzumaki and learning from him since in those war eras, shinobi were restricted to their clans, not collaborating elsewhere. Their relationship began only during Hashirama's tenure of Hokage.
