How do you feel of a noncanon character being used as canon?

Utakata was introduced in the anime first as well, nothing new here. It's better to make it more coherant by fitting it in the actual story

NO he wasnt.

Fu
Han
Utakata

were introduce before the anime.

Kishimoto introduce them in a special databook, showing all the tail beast and Jins.

I think that the character ideas may be Kishis himself but he doesn't have anything to do with filler stories OR he asks permission to use characters from fillers. First one makes more sense tbh

Recent chapter shows him [ ] on the right.

Me personally, what was the point? Why can't it just be that Ringo-guy, that could of been in that era that died?

Deciding to use an anime character, that doesn't fit the storyline at all, was basically a waste of effort drawing.

What do you think?

i also noticed this and tbh i think this shows that kishi and the anime studio(at least sometimes) work closely together....first thing they showed in managa after it was shown in anime was his raiton blades....and now even the char. that girl was too young, they needed some1 older then kakashi/gai. so why not some1 like him? whats wrong with that?

So i'm guessing that Ameyuri Ringo is from Mangetsu's Generation
She fought for Raiga for the Swords, won and after she died from a disease i believe, Raiga retrieved them again. s

I don't mind, it helps expand the verse. And because of filler arcs they already sort of have development and can be plugged in without alot of the extra pages needed to introduce a new character.

Ringo is a girl :|

Also, like I said Raiga's appearance is a cameo and might have been just a nod to the animation team. There's nothing to suggest that all filler storylines are canon.

Kishi has to give the animators permission to add things. They don't have creative license on his brand so they can't just do what ever they want. Its quite likely that Kishi has certain characters already designed but hasn't used them in the anime yet or just gives the animators directions on how he wants his characters to look. The same thing happened with utakata, he appeared in a filler first then was introduced as an Edo tensei.

this right here! i was thinking the same!:yeah:

this isnt the first time its happened as i guy from the will of fire movie appeared in the war but i think its nice that kishi uses these characters he probably was the one who designed the guy seeing how the anime claimed him to be in the 7 swordsmen of the mist which is a pretty big thing to add in something that isn't canon as they wouldn't know if itd contradict with kishis story.

also even if a filler character appears it still doesn't mean the filler is canon just that they exist within the naruto world

Yes, Gari and Pakura - their designs were used but they weren't the same characters since they had different KKGs than mentioned in the movie. The same thing could be with Raiga - Kishi can change his name for all we know, or his backstory.

I doubt that there will be more of him than that cameo though.

This. I don't think people realize how long the story would be if Kishi used every character he's created in this WORLD of Naruto. Editors probably said something to him about story pacing. Just like how RTN used stuff he wasn't able to use in the manga, I always saw fillers as this too.

The "fillers" are made together with Kishi and were always canon. People just fail to realize that, which is some of the most absurd things concerning manga/anime in general...

I see a lot more people noticed it.

I don't mind it, other then it really setting in stone that fillers can't be formated into the story too well, all things considering.

And I think this was suppose to be of the Generation prior to Zabuza's, which explains a lot considering a lot of the faces do look new.

This.

There are many generations of the Seven Swordsman and Raiga does fit in with the weird bunch, very well.

The ones we saw in the manga before now were just the strongest picks of the bunch.

I think it's kinda awesome, tbh. Though it feels more like a subtle cameo than anything of significant relevance. Surely he'd appear much older during the Curry of Life arc, unless he's supposed to be a teen during his time as a Swordsman.

Nonetheless, it opens up some opportunities in the future for Kishi to show any other filler characters and potentially make them canon material.
