How do you decide which characters become your favorites?

Just wondering, but what kind of criteria do you use when picking favorite characters? Personality and character design are the most important factors for me. Honestly, I don't care about strength (What good is strength if I don't find the character likeable?) But even if the character isn't a raging powerhouse, if his/her jutsus are at least interesting then that's enough for me. I also don't care whether or not the character has any plot relevance as long as I'm entertained whenever the character shows up on screen or in the manga. How about you?

Personality, and character design are the main ones for me too, But mainly when they appear on the screen or in the manga when i think Oooh Shits about to go DOWN!, then i know they are one of my favourite characters

For me, music plays a huge part. For example when Kakashi was fighting against kakuzu and pain, the background music was ACE!!! That's when i know that this character does it for me!

You know actually, character favorites come unexpectedly. Just notice yourself, when you're watching the anime or reading the manga, there's that one character that makes u excited. That's the one.

For me, the story and their developments through it. I may like their powers with awesomeness but that ain´t the main deal. I like a little evil if the story is right(you know whom I refer to ).The design of the character is what´s most important I suppose(not appearance wise).

If a character lacks the last two, he is just another character.

i love smart charcters. or charcters who are just plain Evil with fightinig (loves to fight/kill)

Gaara and lee where my favs then gaara became a good boy! bleh

then i saw shikamaru in action
he then became my fav lee is my 2nd fav

Um, I choose my favs by watching how they interact with their world and what there personality is like and how it fits myself.

For instance, in Kingdom Hearts, I LOVE Sora because he's like a beacon of light in the darkness and a true friend. Naruto is like that as well, leading them to be one of my most liked characters(I can't decide between them so I let them share the #1 spot).

I like Gaara becuase he doesn't take nonsense and is anti-social like me. That's why he my tanuki. :3 <3

That's basically how I choose them.

When the character is Smart or Evil. Lol I liked Gaara, Shikamaru and Sasuke.

personal prefrences , do you wanna support the funny character, the serious, the humble, the cool charatcer or the underdog character. it should naturally come to you within a few episodes of watching/reading that anime/manga . in the case of naruto ; every ones favourite character SHOULD be naruto because hes the main character and kishi tryed to build him to gain sympothy from the audience, hence him being the underdog , but nope every one loves sasuke , kakashi, minato, itachi etc .

same for me. and truthfully its the same for everyone else on here. even if their favorites end up having a theme to them
