Luffy used water on Crocodile in three battles along with Robin, which equals four.

I was merely making a point that Crocodile lost his intangibility because he was completely soaked.

Also, people are underestimating Luffy's strength too.

The guy tossed sea kings and beat fishermens.

Doflamingo wanted to team up with Crocodile. Why would he wanted to do so? He clearly acknowledge him as someone who is strong and who can be a threat, thats my point in the first place, but Crocodile at Alabasta wouldn't be much of a threat, at least in my opinion and also Alabasta Crocodile and Marineford Crocodile should be at same level, which i don't found to be true.

The Sunny has a gym in the look-out. Oda has stated that Luffy exercises a lot, and since Sanji is always so well-built and a martial artist, it's obvious that they train. The rest of the Strawhats probably train in there too, but probably to a lesser extent.

It should also be noted that Luffy was completely and utterly defeated effortlessly by Crocodile twice, he would have lost the third time if not for luck and exploiting Croco's weakness.

It's all about what he did in the past imo since so many fighters at Marineford cam from a previous era. It's like Luffy respecting other Supernovas.
