Especially Luffy and Sanji, all Luffy does is goof around or eat. Sanji is constantly trying to impress Nami and Robin. Plus Sanji doesn't seem like the type of guy who spends his free time training. Zoro is always training so that i understand.

Also, Crocodile aswell. He lost to pre-gears Luffy in alabasta and then at MF he's suddenly fighting guys like Jozu, DD and Mihawk. How can someone get stronger from sitting in a jail cell?

They get stronger in battle, they improve when it's necessary the most. And it's viable since they all have potential for so much. A little time in a fight is the time they use to try new tricks and get better.

Luffy was with the first mate of the Pirate King for a year and a half ._. Rayleigh wouldn't just let him sit there...

Sanji was non stop running for two years....

Crocodile could always compete with those guys imo, just Luffy used Croco-boys weakness a lot during Alabasta. At Marineford I think there were bigger things on peoples minds than Crocodile ._.

Well they trained over the time-skip.
I guess they get better in the fights they have. I guess it's not so much being physically stronger, but being more experienced.

Yes, ill second this.

The need to survive in such a harsh environment pushes them into developing the needed power-ups, they always had the potential to do so. And the crocodile thing is obvious, Luffy figured out his weakness, while little to no people did in MF.

how do they get stronger.. maybe this is the reason FEELINGS FOR SOMEONE THEY CARE
when luffy was trying to learn how to use haki.. all that he thinks might be his crew.. about protecting his crew.. when he first used his haki in the fight against the sisters from women isle.. he thinks about saving that blonde girl.. lol.. still this is just my opinion.. dont bash me.

Crocodile lost to luffy because of luck, nothing more.Luffy figuring out water was crocodile's weakness because he was able to land an attack thanks to his sweat. To put it simply, without water, luffy gets demolished by Crocodile like luffy did in his first fight with Crocodile.

1. After ever major battle thy get stronger.

Example: when luffy fought Lucci, he was only able to use 2-3 gear secondo because his body couldn't handle the pressure.

After that fight, he fought Moria and showed that he developed the endurance to use gear secondo whenever he wants.

2. Crocodile has been fighting Haki users before he met luffy.

The only reason why he lost was because he was inside a cave(no flying), damp(no more intangibility), and Luffy had blood on his hand.

Logias aren't physically strong, but luffy had the strength to ko a giant sea king.

Even when Akoji let luffy punch him, he was able to push him back a bit.

When luffy hit smoker by an accident, he sent ace and smoker flying.

Crocodile went 3 rounds of sea king smashing punches and win 2/3 of the fight.

Even Luffy's punches didn't knock him out, he had to punch him throufht the ground and up/or inbetween 2 buildings to knock him out.

So after x amount of hits, crocodile fainted.

Somewhere even suckerpunches...

I think you misunderstand what he said, his question was how did Luffy and others got stronger from East Blue saga to Marineford Saga when they never train.

On topic: They got stronger in battle and about Crocodile is some plot hole by Oda, guy before encountering Luffy fought with Whitebeard and survived.

Well he never specified that, I think he meant what I was saying.

Plus what you said, it can be considered a plot hole. But Luffy really exploited Crocodiles weakness.
No other character us against Crocodile has exploited it as much as Luffy did back in Albasta.

Crocodile lost to pre-gears Luffy cause Luffy used water/blood to defeat him. He just had an advantage that's all. I'm 100% sure that Crocodile with haki can defeat Luffy. He's close to Doflamingo in terms of power (assuming he has haki).

"Sanji is constantly trying to impress Nami and Robin". He can't impress Nami or Robin during their time skip training since he wasn't with them. So i think he for sure thought about their power grown pre timeskip (and probably post timeskip as well, since they will grow in same manner).

Yes, Luffy did exploited Crocodile's weakness, but to be fair i don't see him even with all exploited weakness having chance against Mihawk or Doflamingo. Even thought Mihawk probably wasn't so serious he was able to keep up with him and Doflamingo wanted to team up with Crocodile.
I could be wrong but i think it was stated that Crocodile was already in new world (before Marineford) and i don't think that he could survive with power level he had back in Alabasta, which in my opinion wasn't so impressive.

Ahh, good point ;)

And no way. Mihawk and Doflamingo are clearly on levels above Crocodile.
Well, Moriah went to the New World. We have already seen people who aren't ready for the New World go there and come back. Moriah, Crocodile and those people Kid captured.

Yes, i agree that he is not on their level. My point was just that Doflamingo acknowledged him.

Imo they had probably already met when Crocodile went to the New World. They are all around the same age so chances are they all went their at the same time.

Come on, you cannot compare Robin and Luffys fights with Crocodile and how they utilised his water weakness :/

Well ya I know that...

Luffy used water on Crocodile in three battles along with Robin, which equals four.

I was merely making a point that Crocodile lost his intangibility because he was completely soaked.

Also, people are underestimating Luffy's strength too.

The guy tossed sea kings and beat fishermens.
