To make it show follow Alphas advice but go to User CP>Edit Signature>then

click this icon:

Insert the link (copy and paste) and then hit save at the bottom.

How to create one?

Just download GIMP (or if you want to pay a bunch of money; photoshop)
and check out some tutorials. They really help. I suggest searching for it on youtube.

Spend a day taking a gander at the GFX section to get a feel for some styles and what you would want in a sig. But if you insist on making it urself then you can always go to youtube and look at the various GIMP tutorials.
