How did the kyubi know who madara was?

If madara was controlling the kyuubi or tobi I should say how would the fox kno his name is it possible that tobi was madara even when the fourth fought him? MY guess is that something happened to madara during the uchia massacre this also explains how he knows nagato. A possibility is that itachi defeated him afterwards or during it. That or I missed something... anyone?

i just posted something similar, saying that Madara fought Minato when naruto was just born, and Nagato is 20 years older than Naruto, so it is deffinatly possible to me that Madara did indeed know Nagato.

I had the similar theory of Madara dying after he fought the fourth (not by the fourths hand but after because even 4th said that the man under the mask is madara) maybe his brother is tobi. I mean the only person that stated "madara killed his brother" is tobi so i mean couldnt he warp the story a little? it wouldnt be the first time someone lied in naruto. it could be that madaras brother killed him afterwards and took his place. the only other person i could see (well not exactly i could also see that random uchiha from the danzo flaash back) is obito but that theory is purly based off of tobis hair being similer XP

The fox didnt necesarily identify madara during the kyuubi incident, he said You!!! it could have been madara, or his brother , the fox would have been around both
