How did the 1st beat Madara???

I mean if you think about it Hashirama is known for his powerful wood techs.
Okay now what is the number one enemy of TREES??? FIRE. What burns down a forest in seconds??? FIRE. Isnt Madara one of the strongest Uchiha + he had the 9 tails on his side...what ever happened to just spamming fire techs all day and burning down Hashirama..I mean I dont get how with a matchup like this Madara coulve lost.

I mean...Madara has Fire release...!!!!


EDIT: Since no one seems to get it... I am in no way saying that Madara is stronger than Hashirama I am just saying he had a slight elemental advantage and the 9 tails on his side which can only give him ahigher chance of winning. YET HE STILL LOST. My question is how the fuq does Madara lose with such an advantage when they were both considered equal in terms of skill.

Everybody is busy saying that Hirashima could have countered madaras fire techs with his water techs,but you keep forgeting that madara and shisui awakend the MS and with that came susano,Amateratsu(water techs are useless against it) and Tsyukuyomi?

But madara still lost.....how or why?we will never know.:shrug:

fire doesn't and cannot burn down entire forrest in an instant, as of now madara's fire techniques cannot burn down an entire forrest, while hashirama could create a forrest in an instant. plus hashirama has also shown to be using big ass scrolls filled with weapons.

you don't need to use elemental attacks all day to win a battle, hashi maybe used trees as a cover and attacked madara with other techs water release, earth release, taijutsu.
maybe these couldn't defeat madara but they could certainly injure him. he was human that time

madara is real winner after all.. well hes plan was perfect until nagato used resurrection technique to konoha people instead of madara.. that failed. but madara alive ( edo, no matter) 1'st not..

you don't know the type of person you are until you die. hashi died fighting for his village while madara probably died in a cave like a rat and now being used as a puppet by kabuto

First reason is, Hashirama won't be chosen as the first Hokage if he is not stronger.
The villagers chose Hashirama over Madara. Though Madara is the Strongest Uchiha out there, and probably one of the best ninjas.

So I treat the thing like this.
Hashirama is stronger, though Madara is using Fire which burns Wood making the battle at least "fair". So the battle was kinda equal. But I guess Hashirama won against Madara. That's my opinion about this atleast

To be fair, Hashirama was chosen not because of his fighting ability but due to his ideals. Judging by his own clan, no one believed that Madara would work to bring peace.

I think it was equal and could've gone either way, but the video I saw in Generations did make it seem pretty easy, I think it was too rushed.
