I think you agree with me when I say Hashi has a bigger chakra tank than Madara. When we look at the picture I posted, we can clearly see that Hashi's in a bad state. If Hashi had any chakra left, he would have healed those wounds. From this observation, we can safely assume Madara fell down, because he was out of chakra. Since Edo gives you unlimited chakra this would never happen again.

We already know what happened. Mito was there to help him seal the Kyuubi, because he was out of chakra. Makes perfect sense.
I have now realised that I cant convince a fanboy with logic so we will have to wait for the flachback. You will see a low grueling fight where Hashi outlasts Madara.
