How did Kakashi obtained his MS ?!

Reading the thread "Who is Shisui and why is his eye so good??" Someone (sorry too lazy to go back in the thread to give credit to the right person) wondered how did Kakashi got his Mangekyou Sharingan.... the funny thing is no one seemed to care about it!!!

So Did he somehow awakened it by studying his eye and jutsus? Reading Jiraiya's books ? or ..... (suspense) Did he killed his BFFF ?! Which points to another mystery!!! Who is Kakashi's BFFF ?!

kakashi's best friend is guy which is obviously alive. no one knows how he got his MS. i remember him focused and like meditating during his and narutos battle with deidara. thats the first time i saw his MS

He does not tell how he obtained it, and im not sure how the show and the manga line up like you im to lazy to look back, but he does start to tell naruto about developing a new sweet tech However he is cut off and never gets anymore then that out. Good question considering there is no one who can teach him how to develop it further, and there is never any mention of a higher level till later on. Do keep in mind perv man did something to the black flames from itachi to i guess research them there could possibly be a link there

I would argue you on that, but I may (most likely aren't actually) not be the best authority on that subject, but I would say this: Guy is Kakashi's best rival not friend, maybe they are who knows?

@cybagangsta: Obito was not his best friend at all, it took Obito's death to make Kakashi realize he was right all along and that he most likely wished to be his friend should he had still been alive but they weren't close at all really. I don't think it would fit. Btw if Obito was his best friend then it would not justify the fact that Kakashi has MS cause he had it considerably later... Also... If seeing their friends die in contrast with killing them makes one aligeable to awaken his MS, then I think it is safe to say that a whole lot more than 5 people would have awakened to the MS... especially in times of wars that in deed forged Konoha... It was said that lots of Uchiha blood was spilled... Every uchiha dying was most likely some uchiha's BFFF, which would have awaken that specific guy to MS.

So really again .... How did Kakashi did it ?! Who had recently been killed right before Kakashi and Naruto VS Deidara?! Please no one says Gaara, I don't think Kakashi and him were on a friend basis.... xd

Did a lot of research on that particular chapter actually and when you say there is no mention of a higher level till later on makes me laugh... Especially since Kakashi was the first cited (yes cited, cause they were other's before but in the manga that was a first) victim of Itachi's Tsukoyumi which is the ultimate Genjutsu from a MS!

Your post may not be a total loss though that gives us a start!!! Kakashi must have tried to strengthen his Sharingan since that specific encounter with Itachi, maybe the pain he endured during that genjutsu made him awaken to the MS in the long term? Or something else? Probably did some research to awaken it? Interesting anyone else has a theory from that?

my personal theory is that he did do research, but not specifically into the sharingan. while Kakashi's closest peoples were all dead, I don't think Obito's were neccisarily. and because it's Obito's sharingan, i personally believe that Kakashi did his reseach, found Obitio's closest friend (who would still be alive) and killed him for the MS. and while that doesn't seem like something Kakashi would do, he has the MS, and the only way to do that is to kill the person closest to you (or the true owner of the sharingan). he could have no connection with the person he killed at all. what do you think?

Nobody knows the answer to that right now but he mostly got gained it during the timeskip they had when Naruto went with Jiraiya. I'm pretty sure they will have a Kakashi Chronicles part 2 to show how he gained it lol

Good feedback here people, that's some good feedback I like what Sharingdork says even though it pains me to admit it, I am a scientist at heart I must accept every plausible theories .
As for MS Itachi I would love a Kakashi's chronicle par deux !!! explaining how he got it?! would be nice! Of course I do believe he had it in the time lapse between Naruto and Naruto Shippuden that goes (almost) without saying! (With Kishi you just never know!!!!!)

By the way there is a somewhat related topic to discuss of off this !!

Agreed. It's the most easiest way. People rather kill their best friend than a family member.

It's better than waiting till someone close to you dies and you witness it. You rather kill them yourself.

In Sasuke case he hated Itachi killed him their was no sign of MS and than after that when he found out the "truth" he than knew he lost someone close to him and awaken MS, most likely something like that happen to Kakashi. Lets not forget Rin loved Kakashi so maybe he realized that if he would've gotten with her she might've been alive and his MS awakened since he lost the second most closet to him LOL just a thought
