Yeah sometimes experiment take a long time. Fusion Energy experiment for example. In experiment many trials and errors happen before scientist or engineer succeeded in creating a breakthrough.

KingHashirama once made a theory that the Senju was actually a gathering of many clans under one banner. Once Konoha was founded and peace was established, the Senju clan's sub-clans divided again and became separate clans. As such, The Senju Clan lost it's identity.

Not by bloodline, but she is an Uchiha now. I'm pretty sure that the fact of her being married to the Uchiha survivor and having a Uchiha child makes her part of the Uchiha clan.
