Ahhh. Interesting. I guess Kaguya couldn't get her hands on it so she went after the fruit.
Right if Kaguya wanted the power she would have to seal a lot of Otsutsuki Byakugan's. It's pretty much stupid too.

Sharingan evolves at a current rate by emotional stress, and then you have MS (which is why you kill your best friend or something close to it) and then EMS.

For the Byakugan you need to seal all those damn eyes, like wtf? What a waste. The hyuuga clan is always being shat on against the Senju/Uzumaki, and the Uchiha XD

Technically she has the Juubi Eye. The actual Rinnegan is from her son. Then her grandson got the Sharingan.

The Rinne Sharingan is still both dōjutsu rolled into one. It mutated and split but the stronger of them manifested in her son, whilst the recessive Sharingan gene skipped a generation to Indra.

Probably just a mutation.Tenseigan is below her anyway, since all of her techniques are the original ninjutsu - Kekkei Mōra. Tenseigan is only Kekkei Genkai, a weaker offshoot.

Was there even a proper definition of what Kekkei Mora was? And Tenseigan gives you mind control which would have been useful.

The Tenseigen has a requirement of 1000 Byakugan eyes to fuel its power.

That was actually a false rumor that confused the Tenseigan vessel with the Tenseigan doujutsu.

Tenseigan was born after Kaguya get sealed. Hamura start it first. Its called as Energy Vessel.

The Tenseigan, also known as the Energy Vessel (エネルギー体, Enerugī-tai), is a sacred treasure of the Ōtsutsuki clan, used for millennia to seal the clan's Byakugan to combine their power, as well as collect and amplify natural energy. The clan using the vessel as an energy source to power everything on the moon, including the countless autonomous puppets that served them. As such, it has the power to create massive blasts of chakra that can wipe out entire armies in a similar manner to the Tailed Beast Ball. It is said that the vessel can only be touched by those with the "undiluted chakra of Hamura," or the Ōtsutsuki which are Hamura's descendants.

It's unknown whether the vessel was also brought by the Ōtsutsuki from their home realm to Earth in the past. The Tenseigan consisted of two separated parts, its case and the main content. The case is spherical-shaped structure made from gold with an eight-pointed star-like symbol carved, which currently chained and mounted inside the Hamura's shrine. In the past, its somehow placed and mounted in a wheeled tower structure with an emblem carved in the front of the tower, it was used in the war between the Ōtsutsuki's main and branch families. The main content is a sun-like orb eye-like structure with double-layered yellow hexagon-shaped pupil (one fixed and one another rotated counter-clockwise) surrounded by an orange-yellow flower-like iris, which currently stored inside the core of the artificial sun and protected with some huge pieces of metal bars and guarded by a large number of puppets. According to Hinata Hyūga, an unknown ancient curse technique also placed on the main content, making it untouchable except by those with the "undiluted chakra of Hamura". The main content controls the movement of the moon and is referred to as real Tenseigan, this vessel holds countless Byakugan along with one of Hamura's Tenseigan in its core.

The vessel was later destroyed by Naruto and Hinata via their combined effort. When the vessel was damaged, it began to flicker, and ultimately exploded, disintegrating into countless Byakugan. When it completely broke, the artificial sun inside the moon disintegrated and all living things inside it ceased to exist, however, the moon would only stop to move temporarily.

Tenseigan Clarifications
FF-Suzaku (Translator)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About a month has passed since the film premiered and a lot more information about the movie is out there now on Japanese wikis, blogs, yahoo answers, etc., so I thought I'd post some of the more detailed information. I'm posting it here instead of in the article as I have yet to see the movie, so I can't completely confirm all of this information.

So, basically, the term Tenseigan refers to two different things in the film, which has caused a lot of confusion.

The first is known as the Energy Vessel (エネルギー体, Enerugī-tai), and is the Ōtsutsuki clan's greatest treasure. This is the altar into which the Ōtsutsuki Clan had been sealing their eyes for a thousand years, and "Hamura's Tenseigan" (ハムラの転生眼, Hamura no Tenseigan) is its core -- which of course indicates that Hamura had awakened the Tenseigan at some point before sealing it in the altar. The Energy Vessel apparantly uses his Tenseigan to act as a giant senjutsu chakra engine that collects and amplifies natural energy, and the Ōtsutsuki clan used the Vessel as an energy source to power everything on the moon, including the countless autonomous puppets that served them.

Hamura had vowed to Hagoromo that he would wait a thousand years before judging mankind. The Branch House of the Ōtsutsuki clan interpreted this as a condemnation and believed that the Tenseigan was meant to be used as a weapon to destroy humanity for using chakra as a weapon -- though, in truth, Hamura's intent was probably for the clan to use it to restore the Earth in the event that mankind misused chakra and destroyed the world. The Branch House and Main House eventually destroyed each other in a civil war (apparantly sparked by Madara's theft of the Gedo Statue) during which the Energy Vessel was used as a weapon and apparantly became deactivated. Toneri (only a child at the time), heir to the Branch House, was the sole survivor, and reactivated the Energy Vessel at some point before carrying out his plan to fulfill Hamura's vow.

The Energy Vessel can apparantly only be touched by those with the "undiluted chakra of Hamura," in other words the Ōtsutsuki and Hyuga clans, and even Hinata, who was a direct descendant of Hamura, was only able to destroy it by sharing her chakra with Naruto for a combination attack.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second is the actual Tenseigan dojutsu activated by Toneri, and Hamura before him. After Toneri transplants Hanabi's Byakugan, they react to his Ōtsutsuki chakra and transform into Tenseigan. Contrary to early reports and interpretations, this apparantly has nothing to do with the countless Byakugan sealed in the Energy Vessel altar and Toneri's Tenseigan isn't channeling their power (rather, the Energy Vessel housing Hamura's Tenseigan is, hence the confusion).

So, not unlike the Rinnegan, it's actually awakened by Hamura's two bloodlines uniting (Toneri's Ōtsutsuki chakra and Hanabi's pure Byakugan). Hanabi's Byakugan are especially pure in that, as an heiress to the Hyuga Clan's Main Branch, her bloodline is undiluted. The same is true for Hinata and Hiashi.

In addition to all of Toneri's dojutsu that have already been recorded elsewhere, it seems that he can probably use Senjutsu... which probably isn't surprising, given the appearance of his Tenseigan Chakra Mode and its similarities to Six Paths Sage Mode (Truthseeker Orbs, flight, etc.). At any rate, he animates a giant stone statue of Hamura to fight Kurama, and animating inorganic material certainly falls within the realm of Sage Mode (see: Kabuto). This is speculated to be the way their version of the Puppetmaster Technique works, as they're powered by the Tenseigan Energy Vessel which apparantly generates senjutsu chakra.

She can awaken it but the concept of Tenseigan exist in the Last movie

Plot twist : the reason behind the zetsu army is to mate with her so then she can collect for tenseirinnegan...

There are two kinds of Tenseigan.

Was there even a proper definition of what Kekkei Mora was? And Tenseigan gives you mind control which would have been useful.

The specifics are unknown but like its offshoots, it's genetic. It's basically the original incarnation of any powers that have been passed down... For example, her Tomogoroshi no Haikotsu was the original KKM that was inherited by the Kaguya Clan, but watered down to a Kekkei Genkai called Shikotsumyaku.

Rinne Sharingan is another example of a power that mutated and split/weakened. Hagoromo inherited the Rinnegan part with the original KKM power but didn't have the Sharingan. Probably because the latter would be recessive to its stronger "counterpart", and therefore skipped a generation.

Just see Kaguya as the originator of ninjutsu and her arsenal as a sea of powers split between clans and general shinobi as the family tree branched out.

After the vessal was destroyed Toneri himself lost the power/lost control

Was not shown either for two reasons:

NOT her prefered doujutsu (maybe can only activate one special doujutsu so rinne sharingan vs tenseigan?)

or kishi simply hasn't thought of the tenseigan at that moment.

That was never stated and Toneri had the dojutsu long after it was destroyed.

I think Kaguya had the ordinary Byakugan and the reserved Rinne Sharingan i.e. confined eye powers with limited aptitude in abilities, whose full potential was unleashed by Hamura and Hagoromo respectively by awakening the Tenseigan from Byakugan and Rinnegan from Rinne Sharingan respectively.
