Ace was fighting Blackbeard and he lost
Blackbeard became Schibukai and turned Ace in,
He was imprisoned in Impel Down,
Luffy tried to save him, he was too late,
Theeen Luffy got all BFF with Crocodile and Jimbei(former Schibukai) and a drag queen named Emporio Ivankov,
The drag queen helped luffy since he was a son of revolutionary Dragon,
They went to marineford, blow sh?t up with Whitebeard,
They managed to free Ace but he took a lava fist in the stomach from an admiral Akainu instead of Luffy,
he died in front of Luffy.

Got infront of luffy to defend him from Sakaziki's Magma fist. In which left a hole in his body and afterwards dies.
