[Discussion] How Ace could have beat BB

He should have just waited until the BB Pirates got on their raft, let them go out like 100 meters and then use Hiken to destroy the raft and just attack any of the crewmates that try to save BB. But instead he chose to fight BB in the town and start a fight that destroyed 100 people's homes and maybe even some citizens got killed in Ace's and BB's final attacks just to get revenge on a murderer that killed 1 person.

BB and his crew would not have been so reckless to let that happen. Also Ace wanted to face BB face to face not only for a fair fight he also wanted to know why he killed there crew mate.

But Ace is a man. He won't resort to those kind of methods. Especially when he's filled with vengeance. He wanted to take down Teach 1 v 1 to let him know that he shouldn't have betrayed Whitebeard the way he did. He didn't care who was in his way, he just wanted revenge.

by that logic there would never be a fight in OP everyone would just wait on a bench for ppl to get on boats and then sink them with some cheap attack. i loved ace but his death truly furthered the plot and matured luffy and now we have sabo who's a total boss

Why would that matter to Ace? He's a pirate. He's a really nice guy but it's not like he's some kind of superhero either. And how would Ace bring back Teach to WB while he's in the new world? Much easier for Ace to just take him on and find out why he killed his crew mate. Like I said, this is Ace filled with vengeance, he's probably not thinking clearly enough to devise a plan like that. Nor does he care enough.

I don't think you can call someone a nice guy when he doesn't care if his actions ruin the lives of about 100 innocent people. When BB wakes up Ace can just subdue him and ask BB why he did it and then knock him out again. He went all the way from the NW to Drum Island, then to Alabasta, then to Banaro, Im pretty sure he had enough time to think of a plan.

It's more of a pride thing. Remember, Luffy said Ace would never forgive him if a weaker person like Luffy saved him. Plus, Ace never ran from a fight. It's not that Ace would necessarily care that people said he sneak-attacked Teach or whatever, but it's about his self-pride, if that makes sense.
