Getting a message for training, Guts quickly begins sprinting towards his training location. After a short notice Guts meets up with his teacher and examines him from toe to head.

Hashirama stands on the field waiting for the new student he is about to teach. He hasn't taught in a while so he was a bit rusty but he was sure to get back into the rails.
Well then, let's get started. First go ahead and tell me everything you know about Lightning Release.

Lightning release or Raiton is one of the 5 basic nature elements. The user causes their chakra to vibrate by high frequencies causing lightning to fire at high speeds. Lightning release has piercing capabilities. When hit by lightning the opponent becomes paralyzed so it is a very good element to use in combination with say water release or suiton. Suiton is naturally a conductor for lightning, streaming water from your mouth and combining with lightning increases the range of the raiton technique. Raiton is strong against earth release because it can travel through the ground and break it apart. And is weak against wind because wind is a natural insulator.

In all honesty, i don't even know. I have never seen that lol. My best guess would be that it would make the lightning attacks stronger? But i do know that fire can be used in combination with lightning to create natural lightning. Like shooting a fireball in the sky causing clouds.

In the case of fire and lightning clashing they would simply phase one through the other since (most) fire techniques are intangible and energy based, and lightning is also an energy based element of which most techniques are tangible. They would simply pass one through the other with no other interaction.
And they can't be combined to do that, you shoot a fireball in the sky to heat up the atmosphere and the resulting friction creates the lightning clouds. What would the lightning elements interaction be with the other 3 basic elements?

Lightning is a natrurally strong with water because it is a conductor. It can be used to make raiton attacks stronger and have a bigger range if you do the right techniques, like streaming water to long range and combining it with raiton makes it range bigger. Earth is weak too earth, as it can pass through it and break it apart, and is generally faster than earth techniques. Wind counters Lightning as it is its natural conductor, even though Lightning can have much more piercing power by increasing its vibrances.

Let's start with the first technique then. I post a technique, explain it roughly and then we go into depth of the technique.

Theres really not much to say about this technique, it's one of the basics and is the most effective to catch people off guard when they don't see and i imagine this technique would mostly be used when you are hidden. It can be countered easily though because it's only D-rank. So yeah, i only see this technique as a technique to used in combination with other techniques.
Advantages: Very easy to use, its one of the basics. The technique is fast and easy to perform, it can be used in combination with techniques that either imobalize their opponent, or put them under a genjutsu giving them a smaller time frame to dodge the attack. Doesn't cost alot of chakra.
Disadvantages: It's only D-rank, because of this as i said it can be used in combo with a tehcnique that imobalizes their opponent. I imagine that if the person can still use their arms to channel chakra, can see and hear the lightning bolt they can counter it with a fuuton technique easily, even though they would use up 1 move to counter a D-rank technique. This technique is very simplistic and is kinda easy to anticipate.
How i would use it: The easiest way i would imagine it would be using any genjutsu technique to either scare them , get their attention away or paralyze them. The other way i see it would be completely block their field of view with a massive fire technique, water technique etc. It can also be used to shock yourself to break out of genjutsu

Advantages: Doesn't cost alot of chakra, very simple to use. Can be used in combination with other water techniques, and can be used to keep opponents away from you. Can be used to destroy earth pillars. The technique is also very fast.
Disadvantages: Only D-rank. Can easily be countered with higher ranked wind techniques. Easy to dodge ( By jumping in the air by somekind of pillar and or jumping away from the range. ) Can be countered when the user is going for to touch the ground.
How i would use it: I would use it in combination with water technqiues. It can be channeled through a stream of water to shock the opponent. I would use it to destroy earth techniques that come in close range at me. Also, i would use water clones with this technique or techniques that take up the whole field of view of the opponent and then zap the ground.

Yes, you can use water techniques to stream the water thus increasing the range the electricity travels.
Always remember that the range of the water technique will be the range of the lightning technique as well so keep that in mind.

Disadvantages: Only D-rank. Can be countered easily by moving out of the way out of the bolts by either going upwards thus evading them or using a Wind technique. Insn't practical in a close range battle because before the user can lash out his palm forward he can be countered in taijutsu.

It's alright, likewise. You can use that technique to defend against D-rank and C-rank earth techniques, keep that in mind.
