I think Kishi won't make the romance the main focus until the very end when the war is over, and Naruto is Hokage. Then we might see some on the romance side. I think he will be with Hinata, and maybe Naruto will have a child of his own at the very end.

With recent events of the Naruto Manga Chapter 631, in which Minato asked on the spur of the moment if Sakura was Naruto's girlfriend, Naruto's response (with the translation we got here on this website mind you) made it sound like he still thinks of the possibility of them getting together: "huuummmmmm, huuu, yea, well, that's more or less it", to some it can logically means he's not been serious about it he was just joking, but to others, it was taken in the other way and was thought it as a serious blow to NaruHina fans.

So the hope that you were looking for that will remind you of things you forgot after receiving this 'blow', is the following information you all should know by now, plus a little extra that some of you might not be aware of...

Stating the obvious, since literally day one, episode one, Kishimoto let us know how Hinata feels about Naruto, you don't do that on day 1 unless you have plans about it in the future. The only, and i mean the only characters that Kishimoto has bothered doing cute moments of or moments insinuating love of one for another(these always coming from Hinata)...has been between Naruto and Hinata through the entire series, during Naruto....and even if times were darker, during Shippuden, no matter what, they put it in there more than once, twice, thrice,....however you say four times and so on, probably going past 13 times.

Since day one Kishimoto let's us know who Naruto likes,and like you said,"You don't do that unless is going to be developed."
Cute moments are subjective, I didn't find it cute when he called her weird and plain looking, even though her dejected look was humorous. I don't rely on the animation since it deviates from the manga with glorious fillers.

Hinata's willingness to sacrifice herself for him represents the ultimate expression of love for someone, the fact she said "I love you" make the case stronger that this is meant to be, and if you're wondering why Naruto hasn't responded, well there's the war going on.....and he went into Bijju mode right after he saw her get stabbed, and like always, he forgets stuff when that happens, maybe, just maybe that's the reason".......But even if it wasn't, it was a sealed deal when Hinata was the one to stand by his side and bring him back when he was in shock and lost after Neji's death and when surrounded by comrades that have died in the battle, her words reached him, saved him, and made him remember who he is, and he said "Hinata...thank you...its thanks to you that stayed by my side" and held her hand willingly.

Hinata jumping in was noble but stupid. Her saying, "I love you" was because she knew she didn't stand a chance against Pein and she thought she was going to die, so why be shy.
He went all bijuu because he was outraged by Pein's actions and she is a friend that he cares about.
Naruto held her hand willingly because why would he thank her and then get offended, that make no sense. He also held it as we all saw was to give her chakra, so there is another reason why he held her hand.

Now why doesn't the events from chapter 631 invalidate what was insinuated....na bull...what was made flash-forward fact of what's coming. Cause the translation we received isn't the real correct one, in ***********.com they still have this chapter and this is what was really said, letting you know he was playing around with his dad

Because Minato just endorsed the other team, Naruto is a direct person and he wasn't joking. Naruto still likes Sakura despite what Hinata and Neji did. Side mention: Hinata also said she wasn't going to chase after him after the war.

since day one that foreshadowed the conflict that would follow since sakura loves sasuke, and like i said the only pairing that has been developed is Naruto and Hinata, all the times he saved her and got her to blush, all the times she fainted cause of it too, all the times they had pick nicks together and Naruto would compliment her as the dunce he is by saying"you'd make a great wife someday" without realizing what he just said, and more. On the other hand, Sakura's and Naruto's relationship has been that of resembling siblings, they're really good friends, that's all, Naruto already turned down Sakura once and said"i don't like people who lie to themselves", you forgot to say that he said "i thought you had always been this shy gloomy girl, but you know what, i like people like you" as if saying, i was wrong.

Hinata had already resolved herself to say what she wanted to say before she jumped in to save him in Pain's fight, cause she knew Naruto would tell her to get away, and she better have a good reason to make him understand why she'll stay, what better reason than telling him the truth. And sure, recently part of the reason he held her hand was to give her chakra, but don't just focus on the physical aspect, you're conveniently forgetting what he said to her prior to that, how come i don't see you disproving that part......and Naruto is a direct person when it comes to protecting his friends and when expressing himself about things he gives value to in emotional moments, but when around friends in an environment that has recently soften up, or was already peaceful, he acts like a total goof off, is he's nature to kid around, he has even stated it himself that he does it on purpose to mess around and tease people. And Hinata said that after this war is over, she will no longer chase him around, as in watching his back all the time never truly coming forth to him, and she added, instead I'll walk beside you.
