Honest Question, How Good Was Naruto?

Up to the Pain arc it would be around 8.5/10 but then from chapter 505 - 700 it was a 2/10 (and that's being generous). So the overall score would be hit hard, it was absolute garbage the last 4 years or so.

An ending is crucial, a bad ending can ruin an otherwise great series, not only did Naruto's ending suck, its final 4 years sucked.

ending sucked until Boruto imo. Now there should have been a time skip after Pain imo to set up the war better

It was very good. Great characters. A story which the author planned ahead. Motivational moments and characters that gave valuable lessons about life. Great setting. Mystery of the shinobi and that there were dead characters that were cool and interesting. Too bad the ****ed that up by edo tenseing everyone.

Overall up to the war arc naruto is one of my top anime. All the moments, epic and emotional. The struggles, the strategy. The times when you can't possibly think that they can win, but somehow they do it.

So in conclusion Naruto is great for me due to the intrigue and the mystery (up until the war arc when it all went away)

I don't know why I'm posting again.....This series is so Tedious and will forever be a Massive disappointment.
But, here are my thoughts I guess

Naruto:
Land of Waves Arc : 7/10 - good, was slightly interesting. Didn't care about Team 7...but I liked Kakashi.
Chunin Exams Arc: 10/10 - Amazing, Introducing Kiba Inuzuka (G.O.A.T) and other interesting characters, interesting abilities, interesting clans, fights etc.
Search for Tsunade: 6/10 - Ok, It was Okay.....good thing it was a short arc lol
Sasuke Retrieval Arc: 10/10 - STILL THE GREATEST ARC IN NARUTO. Showcase of amazing potential for the Konoha boys (and especially my boy Kiba).

Naruto Shippuden (where everything went to s*** lol)
Gaara Rescue Arc: 8/10 - good, The fights were cool....not a fan of Sakura but she was impressive in this arc.
Sasuke and Sai Arc: 2/10 - Terrible, Boring AF. Introducing redundant characters, Yamato and Sai. Also the start of Naruto and Sasuke's (very gay and tedious) mental dissonance.
Hidan and Kakazu Arc: 6.5/10 - Decent. Team 10 gets screentime...however, it was mostly Shikamaru and then Naruto steals the spotlight at the end *sigh*
Itachi Pursuit Arc: 5/10 - meh, Started of promising with Kiba's Team (Team 8) getting spotlight.....turned into an Uchiha wankfest (lame)

Pain Invasion Arc: 4/10 - Bad. I just didn't find it very interesting. I don't like it when Naruto ends up doing all the work...and a missed opportunity for K11 to shine.
Kage Summit Arc: 1/10 - Horrible. Team 7 character assassination. All three were terrible (character wise especially Sakura). Kiba, Lee and Sai were put in a team for no f***ing reason. (lame)
Naruto Training Arc: 3/10- Didn't care. DGAF about his power-up training with Killer Bee.

The War Arc (all of It): 0/10 - Complete Trash. Utter S***. Underused Characters. Bulls*** powerups. countless plotholes. pointless deaths. tedious fights.complete mess.

Ending 700: Trash/10 - pairing wankfest. wasted potential. waste of time of energy spent into series.

Extras:

Naruto the LAST: 1/10 - So f***ing boring. So many great character designs but for what ? a fan-service pairing movie.
Burrito Movie: Vomit/10- lol, didn't watch. No way I'm watching those ugly next gen garbage. Completely pointless.

7/10 for the manga. It was really enjoyable and even with its problems I still love the series.

6/10 Manga: it gave an impression its something amazing however it never lived up to its true potential.

3/10 Anime: It was mostly a pile of shit.

Naruto may not be the greatest quality anime/manga but it'll remain my favourite.

The gripes I have with the series I still enjoy dissecting and talking about. For a long-running stereotypical shonen- it got very interesting and surprisingly mature with it's Messiah ideology. Loved that and loved the expansive world, history and mythos. Ending was rushed, the Uchiha became an almost show-ruining drag and the 3 protagonists were largely unlikeable for the majority of the series' run but....

Even if Kishi misused and overexposed certain characters, you have to admit Kishi was a MASTER at worldbuilding, arcs, character art and design. No other series has better side characters than Naruto Shippuden. It's the only fictional series (bar maybe, Doctor Who) to have kept me this immersed and this engaged for so many years. Won't soon forget it neither.

6.5/10. It started with an interesting concept. After the Pein arc, it all fell apart. The only thing that i absolutely don't regret watching is the Sasuke vs Itachi fight, how it was hyped up and how it was delivered.

Part 2 any one not named Naruto and Sasuke from Konoha 11 (aside from maybe Shikamaru) were no longer even characters with any presence. So side characters started off amazing with tons of potential but by the manga's end they were nobodies at best.

Arc by arc is kinda fun

Zabuza arc - 2/10 (Almost unwatchable with gross main characters. Saved by a great ending from Zabuza & Naruto's Nindo);
Chunin Exam arc - 9/10
Search for Tsunade arc - 6/10 (Lacklustre change of pace, Kabuto VS Tsunade best fight ever)
Sasuke's Retrieval arc - 8/10 (Stretched at the end and Sakon/Tayuya get awful endings to their fights)

Shippuuden Kazekage abduction arc - 3/10 (worst arc in the anime by far, manga does a decent job of the odd fight)
Search for Sasuke arc - 8/10 (Great arc. Full of fun stuff, Sai & Yamato breathe fresh air into it and seeing Oro at his height was crazy)
Hidan and Kakuzu arc - 10/10 (it was decent, but I wasn't interested in these particular two);
Itachi Pursuit arc - 8/10
Pain's Attack arc - 7/10
Kage Summit arc - 8/10
War Arc - 9/10 (I genuinely loved it all. Don't see the problem with it apart from Itachi exposure & a few deus ex machinas)
Juubito arc - 9/10 (Obito's defeat is the greatest moment in the manga)
Madara's revival arc - 2/10 (didn't engage in any of it other than 8 Gates)
Kaguya arc - 1/10 (So ridiculously unneeded it would've almost been strangely cool if it were explained)
Naruto vs Sasuke til 700- 8/10 (Generic chakra);

This was my first manga the one which make me like manga, like Harry Potter was my first book....so for that 10/10.

Shafted but a huge cast of fantastic ideas, designs and development for

hunter x hunter's world building does not blow naruto's out of the water at all...and you're looking at the #1 hunter x hunter fan on this sight so I know what I'm typing about
