If I am wrong then why did Danzo put his life on the line to change Obito's ways?

Of course Danzo is going to get a hostage aka Karin, because the whole shinobi world is in danger with obito being there
Danzo is willing to do everything, even give his life to put a stop to Obito, the biggest threat in NarutoVerse

Thats how you have to see and view Danzo as, not some power hungry bitch, but a power hungry bitch to stop Obito
