Yes that's true.. He will die sooner or later. But that's just sad thinking. Remember how sad we felt when we thought he died during the Pain invasion? And i say "we" cuz i speak for every Naruto fan in teh verld lol

As i believe he wasn't completely dead, but in an afterlife before-death state where he met his father midway between life and death. But he was brought back, that is correct.
The third hokage was an old man, therefore handing down the role as leader of the village to the next generation is natural thing to do. And since we don't know whether strength and skills decides the title of Hokage, and since Kakashi is no way near old age, therefore.. for Naruto to gain the title of Hokage within the next couple of decades, Kakashi must die. :kakashi::naruto:

Remember, that'll only happen if Kakashi dies :T_T: so don't say that. Or if Tsunade recovers and is repositioned as Hokage. It'll still be a long time untill Naruto becomes Hokage of Konoha. Also, Kakashi is now the 7th Hokage.. That's Nanadaime lol.

I don't see how power has anything to do with being a Kage. Tsunade and Jiraiya even stated that Kakashi was suitable enough for the role. I think that means alot. It's not about Jutsu or about talent. Kakashi is what Konoha needs right now, a calm leader who knows the values of team work and won't rush into a situation that's hard to come back from. He's careful, and he's smart.

As much as I'd like Naruto to be a Hokage, he simply isn't ready yet. He needs to actually calm down the emotions, and realize that he can fail.

i agree Kakashi should be the next Hokage and in my mind he allready is, but people keep saying the reason why Naruto is not ready is because he's immature in his thinking and need's to think like other Ninja's, but Naruto is not like other Ninja's he don't think like other Ninja's but that's why Naruto would make a great Hokage, because if Naruto truly is going to bring peace to the world he can't think or be like other Ninja's, and one of his best quality's is that he inspires other's around him to change and keep fighting when there seem's like no hope left, Naruto is a natural leader.

If Naruto doesn't return, take down Pein, and lead Nagato to use his jutsu to bring back the dead shinobi, then Konoha is down two Hokage. Tsunade is in a coma, and Kakashi would be dead.

Basic Plan:
What Kakashi must do: Kakashi must become Hokage and to secondarily groom Naruto.
What Naruto must do: Train, primarily to control the Kyuubi, make a decision regarding Sasuke. He can't be Hokage until then, if that's what he wants.

It doesn't matter if Naruto becomes Hokage in the end. Naruto and Nagato were the destined children to bring about a revolution in the ninja world, resulting in either peace or destruction. There is no greater honor or position then that. Whoever is making lists, make sure to add that qualification.

As an aside. Kakashi is a genius by birth and environment. Naruto is just getting that nurtured environment now. Naruto is not some moron who you point in the right direction and say "kill em boy!" like a dog. Too many people have believed in him for a reason including none other than Minato, Itachi, Jiraiya, and Nagato.

Like most people said, Naruto is not suited for Hokage.

They way I see it, Naruto is the most powerful ninja in the leaf. But he doesn't have the technical and strategic intelligence to run the country right now. And lets face it, being a Kage, as we've seen with Gaara and Tsunade, is mostly lots and lots of hard paper work, all day long. That doesn't sound like Naruto ever.

I personally think that instead of becoming Hokage right now, Naruto acts more as Kakashi's ninth Ninja Dog and becomes Konoha's most powerful tool, backed by a small tactical team (ei. whats left of team Kakashi)

Naruto might one day develop the brains the run the Fire Country, he has been growing alot up there. Look at his crazy strategy to take out the last Pain! So maybe one day he'll be Hokage, but not now.

Of course at the moment I'm gonna say Kakashi.
While Naruto is vastly more powerful than his teacher, he is also too emotional. His emotions can heavily impact his decisions and he needs to learn how to reign those emotions in. Naruto has the POWER to become the Hokage, but he lacks the brain.

He isn't too young, look at Gaara. Gaara is by no means "weak", he's just been pit against extremely strong opponents. His age didn't have a bearing on his ability to protect the village. Gaara without the Shukaku is much more suitable for paperwork and can make mature decisions, as he is telling Naruto to do.

Naruto is still in the past. While I think he will succeed in bringing Sasuke back and converting him, he needs to learn to make a strong decision towards what he is going to do about Sasuke. Either kill him or let him go.

To the people who say Kakashi will die in the near future, you guys have to understand basic literature. A manga series is still a type of literature, albiet one with pictures and talk bubbles. Kakashi died, and Kishimoto used his death to help Naruto symbolize his change in his dealings with hatred, as you can see Naruto thinking about it the moment he actually meets Nagato. He came back to life as well, and that also had to have a reason. They probably did it to make him Hokage. Not only that, but Kishimoto cannot keep killing off too many people that are this close to Naruto, as they have to be there to see him become Hokage and all that other happy ending stuff that is common in anime. On top of that, what would Madaras motive be to kill Kakashi paticularly? It is true though that Kakashi could die protecting Konoha, or Naruto. What I'm saying though is that it is still to vague, but I believe that Kakashi will stay alive.
