'mito's ability to sense negative emotion came from kurama' doesn't seem to be a fact to me . it's an inferrance from the fact that naruto gained the ability to do the same due to kurama and that mito possessed kurama

Karin's is different , it is more of a clairvoyance thing, she can detect chakra. Naruto and mito, has more of an empathy thing, they can sense emotions.

Ah ok, I thought that this would only apply to Naruto as he was able to harness Nine-Tails Chakra Mode but it would make sense if Mito was able to control Kurama's powers herself instead of just keeping him sealed.

As for Karin, while it is true she does sense chakra, she can sense emotions due to the changes in someone's chakra system. For example here:

Anyway on topic, Mito could be a descendant of Kaguya with a bit of a stretch. The Uzumaki clan were distant blood relatives of the Senju clan which ultimately connects her to Kaguya through her sons.

This makes it a little awkward for Hashirama and Mito though being related and all that. :erm:
