Dude, 2D Shadows are extremely easy to avoid, that's like Shadow Imitation and such..baby jutsus. The 3D ones are the dangerous ones and the Byakugan can cut through that. Besides, say that he is caught in a 2D shadow and then Shikaku uses that Shadow Sewing technique (3D), the Hyuuga can emit chakra from any point in their body without moving, just like Neji did against Kidomaru. This would render Shikaku's 3D shadow useless.

The Shadow–Neck Binding Technique is 2D, my friend. What counters are there for those???

Just because he can plan a 1000 scenarios doesn't mean he wins by default. He probably won't be able to execute all of them.

i hear u but idk shikaku n shikamaru r like batman status of badassness not the most powerful on the playing field but still has the potential to b the last one standing.( b careful if i was kishi the nara clan wud have had a tablet/scroll of their own explaining how to defeat every clan in the leaf if anyone was to go rogue. too bad 3rd n the eldexdrs didn't think bout asking them to solve the uchia problem. lol the moral of that story is...........thank god I'm not kishi)

I never said he could come up with 1000 strategies, but he would definantly have a plan for nearly all scenarios. He's smarter then Shikamaru and Shikamaru come up with plan after plan when he fought Temari and she was a long distance fighter, so whats a close distance fighter gonna do?

And i wouldn't say extremely easy to avoid, as soon as Hizashi (somehow) manages to hit Shikaku, he will be caught by his shadow, just like the fight with Shikamaru and Hidan.
He can then use Shadow Strangle jutsu to choke Shikaku.They are 2D shadows as they are crawling up his body, he can't cut them cause he cant move.

If you're fast, the user won't be able to do the three hand-sings necessary to perform the jutsu. Also, if you jump back or stay long-range, the shadow won't get you since it's short-to-mid range.

Shikamaru only defeated Hidan because he had a team and Asuma's knuckles.

He wont go chasing him with his shadows, he will wait for Hizashi to get close to him. Hizashi can only hit him if he gets close, but that works to Shikaku's advantage.

Your whole theory relys on Hizashi being able to 'cut' shadows that Shikaku produces. Unless you can show me proof from the manga that he can 'cut' them, then he can't do it.

What are you even saying? Stop trying to sound knowledgeable by referring to the manga. Oh, so since the manga doesn't say or show that Tsunade's punch can break wood, it doesn't? No. Tsunade's punch can break cement walls therefore it is safe to say that it can break wood. Same thing goes for the Byakugan and Kidomaru's web.

Tsunade just broke a cement wall, so yes it has been shown she can break through wood with her punches.
And A web with chakra in it is so much different to a shadow. You keep comparing Kidomarus web to a shadow when they are completely different things.

It doesn't matter, once he is even within 1 metre of him he can get him with his 2D shadows. He doesn't have to touch Hizashi.
