Anyways, here's a tag I literally made just now.

I have a feeling I went somewhere wrong when making it, but not sure where. >_>

Not happy with it overall, but please tell me what you think. ;_;

If you were wondering, she is Hitagi Senjougahara from the Monogatari series (one of teh best animu's ever).

Yeah, I don't know what happened. The render itself was quite small when resized so I had a hard time blending it. ._.

Yeah, that's probably it. Great job nonetheless. Can't really be of much more help as I've never really done a tag besides like one failed attempt..

Well, nice placement and concept. Just that the BG feels messy and there isn't any flow going on. You also didn't do bad in blending the render. Did you try watching a signature tutorial? If you havn't, I 100% recommend you to do so. What program?

I see... I can see where you went wrong. Firstly the emphasis is over-worked, the tag doesn't consist of light source and there isn't any sharpening. What I would have done with the BG is that I'd arrange it in the same direction as the render. So slightly in a diagonal position in your case as the render is facing to the right. Playing with things like these will help make the quality look much more representable. Try watching some more and practise, you have potential.

I kinda disagree with Talael's comment on the positioning of the render.
A render of this focal positioning would be better suited in the middle of the canvas as opposed to following the rule of thirds concept.
I feel as if the canvas is a bit too long, and the tag would look better if it was shorter but a bit higher interms of the height.

You do need to work on the lighting the flow! And an applied image that's dodged and burned using the set tools would help alot, also, you could darken the ends of the tag by using a black soft brush.
If you want, I can find some tutorials on those concepts for you, but so far, I'm liking the feel of the tag overall, though it does feel a bit pale and not doesn't have much vibrancy (that's just a personal view of mine)

KIU though! I'm glad you're working on tags, its a breath of fresh air in the DH!
