That's a hypothetical situation name or show an instance in the manga where he was shown smiling then not won.
He smiled and fathomed fighting Ging, Illumni, and I'm sure Pariston (idk). He ended up not fighting them and he lived to see another day. Somebody smiling is baseless, that's not a feat.
And there's the overhyped move I was referring to. Why, you're not gonna run away from the cross-fire that is not your battle? Even I know people like Hisoka and Chrollo would destroy Feitan.

He's smiling in the midst of combat that's not the same as smiling at the thought of combat. Nothing indicates he couldn't beat Illumi, he even put him in check when he was thinking of taking out Gon before he reached Killua. He wouldn't beat Ging or Pariston and I don't recall him doing that smiling about fighting them you mention do you have the scan? I can't think of a time besides GI that Ging was even brought up in conversation around Hisoka let alone being near him and in GI he didn't show interest in fighting Ging.

Winning how exactly? The author made the point to mention the hits landed so far have been superficial. He has the upper hand tactic wise currently but according to the manga he hasn't made much progress towards winning the fight yet.
No that's Chrollo. Chrollo calculated and seen through everyone of Hisoka's moves without taking a pause to access the situation.
