Nah man Hiruzen will never surpass Hashirama.

Hashirama has way more accomplishments than Hiruzen. Hiruzen managed to beat edo Hashi because oro didn't know how to properly use it. And you can't assume that Hashi was in his prime.

Just because Kishi makes a certain character say something about another, doesnt automatically make it true or factual.

For Example:
Tobi said he was Madara, is he ?
Nagato was said to be a god by the people in his village and Konan ... Look at him, dead
Orochimaru, Kakuza, Hidan all were said to be immortal ... Oh, their dead too
Minato was said to be insurpassable ... But he doesnt even make top 5 ( debatable )
Sasanoo was said to the best defense .. But its been shattered more than any other "perfect defense" in the series now

All this Hiruzen or Hashirama being stronger is speculation, but i defend the 1st more because his feats are more impressive and weve seen more of his arsenal.

My point is the manga contradicts sometimes .. And to not be some book weenie that abides by what characters say all the time.

Yes please tell us how you know better than the person who wrote the damned story please. If kishi said hiruzen was the best hokage then he was case closed no argument.

Everybody and their mama knows that 1st and 2nd hokages edo was only at 20% of their strenght at the time due to oro's edo tensei had not been perfected yet!! So your thread prove nothing it is an epic fail! To be a real fan you have to know every details and understand every logic and accept simple facts!! The 3rd was a great shinobi, but even if he was in his prime he can't beat the 1st!!

This one was a bit of a desperate attempt to prove that Hashirama is < Hiruzen.

Other than an opinion given by Kabuto, who, might I add, also is the reason that Hashirama is known to have fabled strength to us readers, there is no evidence that Hiruzen is the greatest. All this prime bullshit is stupid, and those who talk about it don't realize how stupid they sound over one measly statement.

Hiruzen was called the strongest EARLY pt 1, I don't think he realized there would be a part 2 or knew where he was going with the story at that point. He's only human guys, he's bound to contradict himself.


IMO hype aside, Hashi stomps Hiruzen.

Hashi has as much hype as Hiruzen, with better feats (through Edo Madara)

I'm so sick of this-_-.. This argument has been worn out many times before, and you're just running the cycle on and on..

Hiruzen : How much longer will it take.

Hiruzen allowed the Kages to toy with him because he was waiting for the Death God to prepare himself.

Also, HIruzen was simply letting his guard down most of the time, so it's safe to say that Hiruzen wasn't fighting at his best despite being outnumbered. It's fair for the Kages who is toying with him and Hiruzen who simply letting his guard down most of the time. In the end, Hiruzen was the winner, he beat Hashirama even though he was letting his guard down and past his prime.

Hashirama's situation:

1.) Younger than Hiruzen

2.) In his prime

4.) Toying but he's not letting his guard down, he even used his legendary Mokuton and BOD

Without the plot, Hiruzen shouldn't let his guard down and finish Hashirama as soon as possible. With plot, Hiruzen still won.

What is wrong with the databook stats is that its not only too vague some of what it states isnt supported by the manga. The stats is too vague to be taken absolute.

Secondly you have to note that the databook exaggerate the description of techniques. Its merely there to tell you what the technique does

These threads are to much. Yea he let his guard down but it was cause it was the only way to use the only trump card he had left to play.
