Well Kakashi was afraid of Orchimaru so I don't believe he could well anyways apart from that I believe Hiruzen would win even in his old age. Taking on the 1st and 2nd Hokage was a pretty hard feat to beat. And seeing that Kakashi is the only one who I would consider Kage level and Asuma is shit.

Asuma's practically fodder compared to his father. Hiruzen took on 3 kage level ninja at the same time, so i'm sure he can take on 2 jounin level ninja and come out on top.

Hiruzen should be given credit for what he did when he wasnt in his prime, but what you said doesnt tell the whole story. Both the 1st and 2nd were know where near their best and oro greatly underestimated hiruzen, almost mocking the whole situation and taking the battle lightly.

I agree that they weren't at full strength, but the point still stands that he held his own against 3 very powerful shinobi. Hiruzen could get rid of Asuma without a problem imo and than it's just Hiruzen vs Kakashi. If Hiruzen summons Enma than it's over. Kakashi's only real chance is kamui.

Just because they weren't at full strength doesn't mean they weren't still powerful. Hiruzen also had to deal with Orochimaru as well.
