Because according to the databook he has 3 points in stamina. This means he has early part2 Sakura level chakra reserves. He was running out of chakra when he fought Orochimaru, therefore sacrificed himself to take him down.

Im not sure hiruzen was running out of chakra when facing orochimaru. If I recall correctly he resorted to death reaper seal because he knew that was the only way to seal the hokages without them coming back. But, I don't recall him saying he was low on chakra, I could be wrong though.

I would like you to take into account that hiruzen and sakura have excellenct chakra control, which means they can use just that would normally require allot of chakra with very minimum effort.

Enma is indeed one of the strongest summon, however he is only human sized. According to Jiraiya only summoning a boss summon takes a lot of chakra. ( I'll search the scan if you want )

The ninja normally signs a blood contract with the animal species, which allows them to summon different size and skill levels of creature. The ability to summon more advanced animals largely depends upon the amount of chakra the ninja can muster to perform the jutsu

But like I said, Tsunade can avoid his elemental attacks. She was able to perfectly react to Madara's elemental attacks after all.

Tsunade once she jumps becomes airborne and loses control of her ability to move. Meanwhile its the perfect opportunity for hiruzen to strike her.

Shadow clone shuriken decapitates. And with the use of clones hiruzen can make it omnidirectional, which means tsunade would be able to dodge.

). That's easily a stronger projectile than simple fuma shurikens. Even Iruka tanked one to the back with damage that would never hinder Tsunade as much.

- The clones would have to position themselves first. I doubt she wold let that happen when she's not exactly the patient type.

- She can't even dodge the one sided version of this jutsu of this anyway (she can still block it w/ Katsuyu though), that's not what my point was about.

A short Chidori spear can dismember the Gyuki. Since Gyuki's durability is 4 dimensions higher than Tsunade's durability, Tsunade gets cut even easier with Hiruzen's superior raiton.
