well at that time hiruzen was well very old and battled and stood his ground againts 3 kage lvl ninjas...

we know pretty much nothing about hiruzen except that he insanely strong in his prime and that his final battle was pathetic compared to his standards (despite fighting 3 kage level shinobi). so, although i guess prime hiruzen would have won, he hasn't shown anything capable of countering chibaku tensei for example. based on what has been shown, nagato.
