I'm gonna try my best to explain this to people. People have been saying his hype doesn't mean anything and so on. But I'm gonna try to explain this and why Kishimoto didn't take anything back or contradict himself.
- Orochimaru stated, " He who used to be hailed as the god of shinobi". Bold word "used to", that only reflects that it was only a short period of time.. VS Hashirama's title.. where even after he died, people from other countries called him the God of shinobi, that also reflects that Hiruzen's title wasn't that well known or considered high by all.
- Kabuto also mentions that people started to believe his powers were a fairy tale. Meaning there were some people out there who denied that Hashirama could possibly even possess that amount of power. So to them, Hashirama was not that strong. By the time Hiruzen was Hokage, Hashirama's powers has become a myth..
- Iruka, also says "He was said to be the strongest of all"..... "said to be".... rumours. Now this is confirmed as a rumor due to Dan. Sorry but Hiruzen was considered the strongest of all the Hokage.. then EMS Madara is considerably low him. But false... why was even considered the strongest of all by some? Because Hashirama's powers were a fairy tale... Simply people did not believe they existed.
So people saying "Kishimoto contradicted", "Kishimoto changed his mind", "Kishimoto f*cked up".. no Kishimoto did not, he had provided a specific reason before introducing Hashirama.. and the reason was that his powers were believed to be unreal.. HE GAVE A REASON. Yet even the "intellectual" youtube reviewers and the "intellectual" NB members keep overlooking this and say Kishimoto F*cked up.
Also, another thing people keep forgetting to count is the hype of the First and Second Hokage in that battle, "Considered the best shinobi of Konoha"..... come on now.. Now you can say "shinobi" in the sense they did alot of things.. but hello wasn't Hiruzen just called the God of Shinobi? .... This was also drastically overlooked.
