Personally, I just think Tobirama got a good slash on Izuna with his sword. Just because Tobirama shouted out something doesn't mean it was necessarily a S/T jutsu...or even a jutsu at all, for that matter. You all know how manga/anime characters have the tendency to name every swing of their sword as a different kind of technique. At least, a lot of the time they do.

No not really, they don´t just swing their sword around and make up some kind of name for their swinging.If they do have a name for a move it is because it actually does something other than cutting whatever it touches( in the case of swords in anime/manga).Typical examples are increasing speed of the blade to increase cutting power, producing shockwaves after hitting the ground, swinging the sword to cut through the air producing wind blades, igniting the sword, ice spike blades, etc etc.

It would look really stupid if a character just swung his sword and yelled some crazy name that did nothing but stab or slash someone.What Tobirama did was definitely a technique, whether it was S/T tech(very very likely) or just some other thing that increased his speed we don´t really know for sure yet, but it wasn´t a regular swing of a sword.

Just to clarify Minato wasn't called the yellow flash because of FTG, that was because of his base speed, nobody saw anything when Minato teleported, he left this space and time momentarily before appearing in a new location, it left no sign of movement, hence it's deadly nature, the yellow flash moniker was his normal speed using the body flicker. xd

It was derived from his ST all they saw was a flash before it was all over.He does not move in a flash in his base speed.
He moves instantly like a flash of light(Metaphor) while using FTG

What does it mean exactly ? Many could break it down and speculate,but since there is so many ways to interpret the name it could be quite confusing to pin point the exact meaning without confirmation from kishi himself.

So for the threads sake i would like for people to guess what type of space time technique it could possibly be if it is one at all.

I theorize that its a slash from his sword that cannot be blocked.The technique cuts through space time itself.Kinda like the resenshuriken in terms of cutting power,but of the highest caliber separating molecules into two.

What do you think ?

(For all we know minato could of also been talking about edo tensei as well since there is no way to clarify)(Also it could of have something to do with suiton since he is known for being able summon torrents of water from nowhere.)

lol it was just a sword slash ppl! flying thunder god does not mean space time jutsu it is simply a sign of speed. it was a really fast sword slash. if tobirama would have had the same tech or similar tech as minato we would have already known this. im not saying the 2nd doesnt have space time jutsu im just saying it isnt ftg

Zoro from One Piece has a attack named Onigiri so the giri must be slash and hiraishin means FTG. FTG Slash xD

Btw.. Hiraishin does not translate to Flying Thunder God...I don't know where that translation came from. I mean the word God in Japanese is Kami for goodness sakes..Hiraishin literally translates to "lightning rod" Just thought I'd clarify since everyone seems to misunderstand the word.

For all we know Minato is known as the Yellow Flash because of his S/T jutsu and if people can see a flash when he's using it, maybe is S/T jutsu doesn't involve going into another dimension like Obito.
Naruto when in KM is said to move just like the Yellow Flash, but we know that Naruto doesn't have S/T jutsu.

And then Minato is also known to be able to travel great distances in an instant which Naruto can't do, so IMO the FTG has different abilities or different level of speed (or S/T juice whatever you wanna call it)!

also, naruto is using at the moment body flicker = fast movement within short distance. At young age minato was already fast (saved kushina). As he got older his speed and reaction time improved. Minato not only uses FTG, he is also fast.

Naruto is fast but can not teleport or manipulate time/space. Uchiha Itachi can manipulate time/space utilizing his genjutsu while minato can manipulate time/space in real time.

This is where tsunade is saving FTG for naruto

Honestly you just have to completely analyze the current situation that was at hand followed up with the intel given to us before.

Minato stated that Obito's Space-Time technique (Kamui) was more versatile than his and Tobirama's. He never stated it being weaker in any of the sort, and this could possibly even mean that Minato actually developed the Flying Thunder God Technique from Tobirama's Space-Time technique, given the fact that his other signature technique, Rasengan, was developed by simply researching the Tailed Beast Bomb.

Now in the chapter, an Uchiha's Sharingan are known to give them a combat boost and read through the user's movements. The only way Izuna can die from a fatal wound like that is if he could simply not read the attack, which is why i personally think it was a Space-Time technique.
