She wasn't the damsel in distress. What happened is she charged Madara on purpose with the Byakugou active to give Sasuke and Naruto an opening. Because Naruto cares so much he acted instantly as implied last chapter to Sasuke and moved her from harm.

But I am not talking about anything else that happened there. I am talking about the specific moment where she thinks about Sasuke, which she received a lot of bashing for while when Hinata did it, it was perfectly fine.

C) Naruto's body auto-reacts as stated last chapter. She would have been fine as Sasuke and Naruto would have attacked Madara.
