It was a little insulting for her to be thinking about Naruto's hand after Neji had died. Yeah she smacked Naruto because he froze and was letting Neji's death get to him...but Naruto seemed like he was coming under the realization that he cannot save everyone and that there will be deaths happening and Hinata simply stopped him from getting depressed at that thought. Kurama also helped snapped him out of that funk too, he helped him realize that people have already been dying for him so Neji's nor anyone elses sacrifices were in vain.

Yes its slightly iffy .... But if you consider the later part of the quote, 'They make me feel safe'/ 'it is comforting' it indicates at her own insecurities which she hides and goes on without addressing them.
