I think about this all the time. So she has a backstory similar to the guys already. But the love triangle could have been hinata loves naruto naruto still doesn't like her back but here's the catch Sasuke actually has a an interest towards hinata because of her personality and what not. Sakura was restricted due to plot.
And Sakura never stood around, even know she could do nothing , she didn't give up an put her life on the line to save others.
And Sakura was needed ,she provided knowledge, insight, and had the most improved genjutsu know how.

And she saved both Naruto and sasuke.
And she is an incredible tank
