You forget the safe part.
That's the key aspect to everything she says.
Someone who's a gentle person is already conflicted by being in a war. Furthermore, her cousin has just died. Thirdly she is standing before a titanic God of destruction, and lastly she knows she doesn't have tome to properly mourn or else more people will die.
The comment reaches towards the idea of a warm embrace despite there being no time for it. Kishi is always about symbolism.
But yeah... Kishi probably chose the most absolute God awful diction for her to say in that scene. I won't deny that.
